For all games conducted prior to June 15th, having the DLC for is not compulsory. If both opponents agree on the conditions, (so long as teams are the ones you signed up for; not custom teams) you can conduct your match without having the DLC installed. After June 15th, however, the DLC is compulsory for participation.

Original First Post:
With the new patch and DLC hitting next week, I thought we could start an online PS3 league.This league will be far simpler than Jdobs95's comp, as it won't require editing or player trades/transfers. It will simply be playing AFL Live online. Sign up with your PSN, BigFooty username and team you want to represent. This competition will begin on the 15th of June, or later if there has not been 18 sign ups by then.

Rules:
-To play you must have purchased the 2012 GOTY DLC
-Games must be played with the default squads of the 2012 GOTY DLC
-You must have a half decent internet connection
-No rage quitting
-The time the game is played must be organised between the 2 opponents within this thread
-Both players most provide the scores of their completed game and both must confirm the result for it to be official.

Format
-Round 1 will consist of 9 matches. The winners of each of these matches will go in to Pool A, the losers will go in to Pool B.

-In round 2, Pool A will be separated in to 3 randomly allocated sub groups consisting of 3 of the winners of round 1. The same will happen with Pool B, instead with the losers of round 1. These groups of 3 play a 3 game round robin. In this round robin, 2 points will be awarded for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. The teams that finish on the bottom of their groups in round 2, will be knocked out of the tournament.

-In round 3, the remaining teams in Pool A will again be split in to 2 groups of 3. The same will happen with the remaining teams in Pool B. The same point allocation rules will apply in round 3, as in round. Again, the bottom team in each sub group is knocked out.

-In round 4, there will be 4 remaining teams in Pool A and 4 remaining teams in Pool B. These teams will play off in 1v4 and 2v3 games. The losers will be knocked out.

-In round 5, there will be 2 remaining teams in both groups. These teams will play off in the major (Pool A) and minor (Pool B) grand finals.

-The winners of these grand finals will be crowned minor and major champions of BigFooty.
