Is there interest by anyone that wants to mod it now that AFL 2 is out?

I would love to be the recipient of AFL mods. Don't have the skills myself though sadly. But for what it's worth 1 is the better game and I'll be playing that next year instead of the Wii Redux version.

Is there anywhere to get this anymore? They took it down from Windows Live and I never see any copies at JB or EB.

I know it's a long shot but with GFWL discontinuing, is there a chance of the game being patched to run without GFWL ?

The Arkham games (Arkham Asylum and Arkham City) were patched to work without GFWL a few days ago.
Capcom recently announced that their past pc titles will gradually wipe out the GFWL requirement.

I am happy to have purchased the game on release, but this is a sad example and the risk of digital gaming (as it will eventually be unplayable).

Not yet, sorry, I am waiting for answers from others.

Update on this Ross? The BGL boys are happy to switch to PC if there was a way to get 2014 lists via modding etc.. Wouldn't mind Adelaide Oval either ;)

Because this AFL Live 2 game is rubbish, we are still doing AFL Live 1 Leagues!

I loaded up AFL1 PC Version for the first time in a couple of months and GFWL said that it needed to download an update to run the game. I almost fell off my chair, I thought BA might have 'accidentally' released a list update for the venerable classic but no, it was just a GFWL client update.

You would have to say though, some type of basic interface to update and share player lists for the PC version is about the only positive thing you could see happening for AFL gaming any time soon. It probably isn't even that hard to do, a young kid (Gilly!) modded one of the AFL games yonkers ago and it worked great. I guess you just need to have that basic understanding of coding. Which sadly I don't have.

Here's a thought - if Ross comes back with a negatory, I wonder how much we would have to pay a freelance programmer to create a mod tool, and how many of us would be willing to contribute.

Is online gone for the PC version? If so, I can tell you how to mod the salary cap for those of you who haven't already :)

Only if it's okay with Ross.

Go for your life - if anyone can mod or make AFL Live PC work better after GFWL got axed I am happy for them.

What you really need is a guy that's interested in wanting to do it because he's a fan, we have those guys around for RLL and DBC but not for AFL. We'd support anyone with AFL mods for sure as we've done for all of our games.

Sweet, I will just need time to upload the video but I can quickly describe it now.
First download and install Cheat Engine.
Download the afl.zip file and extract it.
Next open cheat engine and use it to open the extracted afl.CT file.
Launch AFL Live and go to the list manager in Footy Factory.
Minimise AFL Live using the Windows logo key.
Go back to cheat engine and select the process as AFL.exe
Click Yes.
Double click the numbers under the value column and change them (all the same) to what you want the salary cap to be.
Check the active checkbox.
Go back to AFL Live without closing Cheat Engine, go back to the main menu then back into the list manager.
The magic has worked hopefully :)
Now we just need to be able to open those data.blobset.pc files ;)

We can help you with the data.blobset.pc format if you're going to share with others and as long as the people using any changes actually did purchase the game.
