Hello all,

If I were to become an AFL Member with Geelong support in 2009 - would this guarantee me a grand final ticket? I'm a Geelong member now was lucky enough to secure a seat for this years grand final - just don't want to have to do it again! :)

You don't get them until your gold, or if there are still seats left after gold members have bought them.

Yes, you have to wait until your a Full (Gold) member. Usually an 8-10 year wait. I had to wait 7 years but I became a full member back around 2000-01. As a full member you have access to all finals in Melbourne including the Grand Final. As a member of the supporting club you are give priority access which guarantees you a seat. Geelong only have 2,500 full AFL members and the AFL section holds 18,000.

You start as a restricted (Silver) member and only have access to the first two weeks of the finals. You can still go to the Prelim in the AFL section if guest passes are sold, but for the Geelong vs Collingwood last year this was not an option. This year you could though.
