Sid said:The 2003 version is so easy to win that I have to select a team of all the reserves players, put the short players like schneids and crouch in the ruck and FFs and put the ruckman as the onballers and centers/wingers.
A video game disaster.
wooostace said:I've decided to give the game a chance, and, well, It's starting to grow on me. I had one of the most exciting "realistic" finishes just before. I was playing Carlton(I was the Kangaroos) and i was 4 goals behind with 4 minutes left, i kicked 3 goals but ended up losing by 1 goal. Playing a wet match is awesome because the players get all muddy and stuff. Waiting for leads and kicking to them is heaps of fun. I'd actually give it about a 6/10 now. Still alot of things need to be improved though

Im The Gun said:but it's still a young game. remember what NBA live 95 was like.
Monkster said:The difference is though that it wasnt just a young franchise but the computers weren't capable of doing what they can today. If IR Gurus want to be taken seriously as a video game company (and why wouldn't they want to be if no one takes them seriously they lose to overseas companys) they need to stop having excuses for why their games are so poor.
nonchalance said:Seen Heroes of the Pacific, IRGurus' self-funded effort?
That game looks ********ing amazing, takes full advantage of the hardware available nowadays, is tearing apart the review charts both overseas and domestically (although retail release is still a little while away).
These guys are ********ing talented.
So.
If it's not the developer, is it Sony that's the problem?
Doubt it, because last year's had even worse problems, and that was a different publisher.
So is it the AFL?
Hang on.
Has anyone ever seen an official AFL-branded game that wasn't utter ********?
Lonie_from_50 said:yeah, the gameplay is good, its just they need to add the things that were also taken out of it, eg. Stats.

That was one of my favourite parts of the game!
Who here would always look for the handball off to their favourite player so they could nail the goal?
Obviously the games had big flaws, but I always thought the 2-player mode was good. Heaps of flaws though.
The incorrect commentary was in Live '04, and it just got bloody annoying after a while. Another annoying thing (Not sure if this is in '05 because I haven't played it) was how dumb the computer could get. Chipping it backwards, to the point of kicking it out on the full, constant spoiling WTF? and just the frustration of the wierd tactics.
I remember playing against Port and everytime S Burgoyne got a possession it would say it was Cassisi.
The ad made it look crap, Nathan Brown aboriginal ruckman WTF?
Just a question, is the 2 player mode in '05 any good? That was probably the best part of all the games.
