My whole family got upgraded this week to full membership.
We have 5 memberships & joined at the start of 2008 season.
Got a real surprise when they called me.
We were around 3,500 on wait list at the start of this season.
This means that a lot of fans have dropped off and it could be becoming pricey for many.
I won't have to worry about Grand Final tickets anymore

For a few years only 1,000 or so were getting upgraded, last year it was something like 2,000.
I was 2,300 on this year's renewal form but haven't heard anything yet. Do you know if the upgrade takes effect immediately or whether it is for next season?

I joined start of 2008 season and I was around 4,300. That is about 800 different to me. There must have been a lot join in early 2008. Pretty sure I joined late Feb/early March of 2008.

I missed the call but they left message on my phone and I called back.
They told me that they called to tell me that my little one has been upgraded and will receive a card soon.
She received a new card the next day.
I have checked my account on the AFL Membership web site and noticed that the rest of us have 2 sets of Barcodes.
The current codes and new ones which are obviously the new full membership Barcodes.
I copied all of them and tried using them on Ticketek and they worked.
I did not make a purchase, just wanted to see what is going on.
I can only presume that the rest of us will be getting new cards soon.
The youngest daughters old Barcode has been cancelled and the new one is on her account.
Most of you guys that are in line to get upgraded will probably be notified soon, so be patient.

The churn accelerates when a top club drops off.
I think Collingwood had the highest number of AFL members and the last couple of years would have seen quite a few give it away as they're not really a GF chance at the moment.
From 2010 to 2013 it moved very very slowly, as the usual churn by Collingwood members slowed - they hung onto them to see a GF.
Just logged onto 'MyAFLAccount' and there is an invoice there for '2015 Full Membership Upgrade' for $155.
No one has contacted me about it, looks like that is the way to see if you are about to be upgraded.

I have 2 adult invoices for $155
One Concession for $75 &
One Junior for $60
Grand total of $445 if I want all the full memberships now.
The AFL are short of money it seems lol
Yep, go to the AFL member website then click on MyAFLAccount up the top right, enter login details, then it takes you to that pseudo AFL/Ticketmaster screen, then click on MyAccount/Account Manager.
Maybe they peruse your BigFooty posting history before offering upgrades, that would explain you not having anything.
