You are aware there is an investigation underway right? I think to guys at bomber land call it storm in a tea cup...

Anyway, IF Hird is found guilty of any involvement in injecting banned substances into his players then by definition he is a drug cheat right? Notice I said if. It's still an unknown. Unless of course you have definitive proof that he had no involvement whatsoever?

Now if he's found not to have any involvement the fact that he's overseen the appointment of a shoddy character like Dank and the fact that he didn't know what was being injected into Essendon players would imply that he's been negligent/incompetent. In the real world anyway, not sure how they view these minor details out Tulla way.

Either way, it's one or the other. I know you'll try and twist my words around and question my allegiances etc but I'll leave it at that and hope I have helped you understand what I was trying to say in my original post.

As for his coaching capabilities, well the results speak for themselves. What other proof do you need??
So, in summary: No.

Either willingly or subconsciously, Essendon supporters became caught up in the desire of influential coterie and past players to undermine Knights, and facts went out the window. The situation descended into farce when Hird emerged from the shadows - the coach recording an interview for The Footy Show to appeal for his job - and it became a case of GTFO now.

It's close to the ultimate irony that Essendon finds itself in this predicament as a direct result, with the major players facing their own battle for survival. And without Knights having had to tip a bucket of manure on the club as he was entitled to do.

I was a Knights supporter for most of his tenure. However, he lost the players and the club replaced him with a club legend who is as passionate about the club as anyone. Hirdy was also a person with no extra ordinary athletic talents and was no stand out as a junior who only got drafted because his grand father, who has a stand named after him at Windy Hill, pestered the club to pick him up. He was going to be cut after 1 year so unimpressive was his first year at the club. Despite this sheer bloody hard work, high intenlligence and an attitude to leave no stone unturned saw that 16 years later he retired being considered an all time great of the club, one of the best players in the league in his generation and decorated with a Brownlow, Norm Smith and two premierships, one of them he captained.

The players play for him.

Also as much as I loved watching the all out attack of Knights it was clear that we were never going to make it. Hird gave everyone a chance before he cut the list this year.

Hird is derided as a "golden boy" but it is sort of true. He has the midas touch, in fooball, marriage and family, business and if he can ride this one out he'll also show he has it regards coaching. For those of us who don't achieve like he does it is easy to get jealous. I certainly believe in a high tax for people who earn what he does, however, I do not deny him is plaudits and am glad for his success.

The definition of competition is competing fairly to see who wins.

Whatever happens to Essendon there will be a reason for it.

Agree...like I've said in previous posts, if they've done the crime they will pay.

But some footy supporters are hoping that they're guilty which is the problem I have.

Strikes me given the Wade Lees case that is an odd way to do things.

I would have thought that rather than source supplements online the sensible and safer thing to do would be to have all supplements supplied by the club.

I am shocked that players actually pay for supplements (or anything judging by Mitch Robinsons' Twitter). I would have though the clubs would be hooked up with a company like Mushasi and got everything for free in the same way a company like 2XU gives certain clubs compression tights for nicks.

So, in summary: No.

Lol you guys are hopeless :D

So you're a bank teller. One day you leave your cash register open and go grab a coffee. Some dodgy customer notices this, reaches over, pockets a few hundred bucks and walks out. Your manager sees this on the security camera and questions you about it? Who is to blame?

a) you
b) the dodgy customer
c) the register for being open
d) the camera for capturing it all

?

You would think that either her or Barrett have uncovered something else of substance though to justify another special episode. Last week was supposed to be a one off.

nah i really don't think that at all, wouldn't be that surprised if they just go over whats been happening without revealing anything new, smart move by 9 though

inb4 they unleash the biggest story ever

Young men + disposable income = buying things they don't need to buy.

You: Essendon are drug cheats and Hird didn't know about secret injections Dank was giving them.
Me: Got proof?

You

Exactly. If we took illegal shit then we deserve every punishment handed down. But the fact of the matter is that we, right now are completely innocent. Most of the posters in this thread are rather praying that we get found guilty, and any Essendon fan defending themselves are accused of having their heads up their asses.

So the answer to my question is no.

Zzzzzzzzzzz

Has this at least bonded the group as Lance Romance alluded to? Just after an opinion if that's ok with you.

Some of you do have your heads up your asses, but only some :p

Poster X: Essendon/hird did this.....

ManwithNoName or some of the equally Zealous supporters: Proof??

Poster X: Not proof but...

ManwithNoName or some of the equally Zealous supporters: No proof equals no dice. Your are a idiot.

ahem....

NOBODY HAS ANY PROOF. NOBODY!

So how about we sit tight and wait for some facts to come out?

How are you completely innocent? There is an investigation underway, not sure how you know the result already.

Very much so.

Watch the crowd on Friday night. Essendon fans will easily outnumber Collingwood and Footscray fans on the night.

The players are as one.

The player parents based on the statements by Tim Watson and the parents of young Crameri, are very pleased with where the club is.

And former players are coming out as well.

Such as this from Andrew Welsh:
@Andrew12Welsh: I hope when Essendon_FC are found not guilty a lot of people out there hand back their pen licence. #sticktogreyled #grade3 #storytime ✒X✏

Are you trolling your club?

I have no problem with that.

But you are being just as adamant in your POV, yet you have as much proof as the accusers.

One of you is going to be wrong. And you/Essendon are not infallable at this stage.
No. But when people state "Essendon are drug cheats" as a fact, why should we just let that slide?
