OK, I can just about make a case for Brisbane being a Melbourne club, but West Coast? And are either of them "bigger-drawing" in Melbourne? Last weekend's game against St Kilda would suggest not.Cats warming to 24-rounds in 2003

Geelong has given its broad support to the idea of an expanded 24-round season in 2003 if, as reported in The Australian, the television rights holders have agreed to cover the costs for the extra games.
The report from afl.com.au columnist Patrick Smith states that the Nine, Ten and Fox Networks have agreed to pick up the player payments tab for the 16 matches – a sum in the region of $2 million.
The Cats had taken a cautious stance on the issue and were not believed to have been as enthusiastic in their support for an expanded season as the bigger-drawing Melbourne clubs such as Carlton, Essendon, West Coast, Brisbane and Richmond.
