afl.com.au is down again

Is it just me or have things gone backwards for the league this year?

This new wonderful Telstra site is not only ****, but it's always down, particularly on a Sunday evening, and even when it's up the links to stories dont work, the live match scoreboards bugger up, its a joke. Its updated bloody slowly too in terms of the ladder, match stats, etc. What's really good is now you cant even use your club site as an alternative because it's the same bloody ****e, if the afl site is down, your club site is, if a link is buggered on the AFL site, the same link is knackered on your club site.

Another gripe I have is with this new spectacular coverage we get. Channel 7 lost the rights and evrybody was ****-a-hoop because thered be no more MacAvaney and Co. Well now we get bloody Mc Guire who is 10 times worse, and half of MacAvaney's old boys have jumped ship. So what do we get out of it? Less coverage and a bloody worse job than 7 did on its own from 2 channels. On a Saturday at lunch time I want to sit down and watch footy EVERY WEEK, regardless of who's playing. Big steps backwards for the league.

In conclusion :
**** you Telstra
**** you Channel 9
**** you Channel 10

love your conclusion ;)

have to agree with everything you've said Thrawn, channels 9 + 10 were supposed to be the saviours of football but theyve turned out to be a load of ****.

Camera work is ****, commentators are **** (except Commetti) and like you said, every Saturday at noon i wanna watch the footy regardless of whos playing, we cant even do that anymore!!

The afl site is a joke, good luck finding out who's won the football, actually, it should be good luck actually accessing the page!!

The game has become too much like a business, aim for profits, stuff your customers

The value of sports broadcast rights worldwide has collapsed since the AFL deal was done. So, on the good side, there's every possibility that the consortium has paid the AFL substantially more than the present value of the broadcast rights. On the bad side, the AFL's ability to renegotiate is limited as they stand to lose a lot of money.

So, whilst the AFL is swimming in dough, the punters continue to get shagged. Yay.

Spot on Thrawn...good post.
The AFL has sold footy fans out for pieces of silver.

And I have had a soft spot for the Pies since MM became their coach but now Eddies disgraceful bias has left me hoping they lose every game.
