This is going to be a really interesting game I think, no idea how good either of these sides is going to be this year.

Crowd is a bit smaller than i'd like, but i really can't blame anyone for not showing up due to the heat. Bad storms turn away some diehards in the winter, so this is something we just gotta deal with at this time of year

Feel for the players running around in 37 plus temps.
It is verging on cruelty to expect women (or men) to play AF in this heat.
The commentators said they can understand fans not coming to watch this game (poor crowd) due to the heat- but the sycophantic media don't criticise the AFL for scheduling so many day time games.

The 1st qtr., however, was excellent- great ball movement, good skills, & good no. of goal kicked. This skill level can't be maintained, when temp. is c.35 degrees.

Fri. night was free. It is inexcusable that no AFLW games were scheduled- shame, AFL. In the Aust. summer, Fri, Sat (both 5.45 & 7.45) & Sunday (5.45) evening games should ALWAYS be scheduled.

EDIT

What a game!
NM Tas. v. Carlton was good, but this Freo 6.4. v. Melb. 3.2, at 1/2 time, is showcasing the AFLW to a high level, despite the heat inferno.
This game is saving the AFL from the embarrassment of the poor 2 games (also played in hot conditions) on Sat. night.

This is a terrific game, and in the worst conditions of the round. Fremantle maybe reaping the benefits of a stable list - don't think they lost anyone they wanted to keep over the offseason. Loving the look of Duffy too
