Season starting to look a bit shakier, with a loss to Port away and now likely B&F winner Lucy Wales out for the remainder of the season with recovering from appendicitis. Allen is available, maybe Williamson too, but no timeline on Bates yet.

We face the Bombers away at Windy Hill Saturday afternoon.

I don't have fear for the game(s) at all. To be the best you got to beat the best and all those cliches so it's a great chance to test ourselves.

And that's essentially what Rd12 will be, a test that's a free hit with minimal expectations against the best side. If they get close that's going to be a positive. The finals will be the real deal but they'll have literally had a week of seeing how they went against them, the best preparation to have a chance at another upset and when it comes to finals anything can happen.

Injuries luck hasn't gone Hawks way this year but I think there's no excuses to aim for a finals win, they really need to do that (whichever week).

If we lose this week and next we are playing in a cut throat semi final. '08 Hawks won every final.

Regardless, we also need to finish at least 3 rungs above Lions on the ladder after the finals series to claim the $1m.

That loss against Port sucks. We could have been playing a home Prelim against Dees or Lions.

The only saving grace is if Norf rest half their team as they can't lose top spot. Unlikely.
