G'day,

Firstly congrats on your very impressive win. As a Kangas supporter, obviously very disappointed, but that was as classy, skillful and clinical exhibition i have seen for ages so bravo.

Anyway, hope you dont mind an outsider coming on, but i reckon your Angelo Lekkas shares the tag with our Adam Simpson as possibly the most underrated player in the AFL. I'm sure you guys dont underrate him, but how good is he? Almost rate him your most complete and important midfielder. Really a fan of him. I dont often hear him spoken about in the same terms as Crawford, Chick or Hardford, but he just impresses me whenever i see your mob play. Great player.

Anyway, best of luck for the rest of the year guys.

Don't know if it was his best ever game, but it was an impressive performance.

Lek is a wingman, rather than a midfielder - they don't make many of them any more. He gets out and runs, but he knows when to stay at home and be accountable.

He was in excellent form through 1998 & 1999, culminating in a Victorian jumper (the same side as Trent Croad, so we must have been struggling that year ;) ), but lost his way after that. His 2000 was absolutely shocking, but apparently wasn't fit for most of the season.

Last year he picked it up again, finding his niche on the wing. He's added goalkicking to his repetoire, and he is high on Hawthorn's tackling list. He pretty much does it all on his side of the ground.

He is underrated, and he's an important cog when we're playing well.

(Qualifier: the author of this post owns a Hawthorn jumper with a 37 on the back.)

Thanks Carlos. You've let the cat out of the bag;) Angelo is my favourite player at the moment: he is not a superstar but he is an incredibly hard worker. Last year he was our top possession getter (is that a word?). He'll never take a huge speccy or kick a torp for goal from 70 metres out but he'll rack up his 20 possessions week in week out plus his 5 tackles, 5 shepherds, 5 inside 50s-you get the picture, all the team oriented stuff.

By the way, it was pretty late when i typed this post people. Fully aware his name is "Angelo"!;)

Typo or no typo, he is still a great player for you.

Could you guys have played any better by the way? Havent seen a side that clinical since that bloody final we played against Essendon in 2000.

Back to the drawing board i guess!

Lekkas

How good was he, absolute standout. Wish we picked him up last year when we had the chance, especially with the problems in our midfield
