So what?

Stop hating on Agent zer0, he's a fantastic player who gives 110% every time he steps on teh court, he HIMSELF said he wasn't the leader of this team, during the season.

Most of these press announcements regarding next year's video games HAVE to be done when the publisher asks, and I'd be tipping they preferred to have the announcement made while Washington were at least still in the playoffs.

The guy who wrote the article just sounds like a whinging douchebag, the same kind of guy who will turn around and whinge that NBA players are all robots etc.

Gilbert plays basketball like a typical 24 year old. He loves it and loves talking himself up.

he should be on de bench with his team not promoting himself. loves himself 1st, stats 2nd.

The only one that sounds like a doucebag is Gilbert, I like the way he plays but he is a complete knob.

At the same time, I can't imagine an AFL player being a good enough athlete to play basketball in the NBA.

You people have to remember, it isn't like AFL - NBA players are brands, they have to perform to a certain level OFF the court as well.

All you negative types should focus on the good things Gilbert does.

For a start, I couldn't picture a typical bogan, self-obsessed, AFL player going out of his way to send send 2000 of his fans FREE autographed jersey's to raise money for charity. But Agent Zero did it.

I have read a fair bit about Agent 0 and he is a complete tool. Very self centred NBA players some times need to be to get ahead in the game and but he will never be a champion he will just be a player that shoot the ball heaps and carrys on like a knob.

Wow he spent an hour signing jerseys that were given to him and gave them to charity. Man what a humanitarian, Dikembe Mutombo look out they might name a hospital after Gilbert soon.... $40 million and this guy is handing out his own jersey to charity.

Well if I get given 2000 jerseys I will sign them as well and give them to charity as well.

Actually the question should be what have other players done to top that and the answer is simple! Plenty!!!!

Do the names Divac, Mutambo, Webber, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Bobby Jackson, Pedja Stojakovic, Richard Jefferson, Shaq, David Robinson etc mean anything to you.

Before you paint Arenas into some sort of saint, how about you go away and find out what those mentioned and many others have done in terms of charity work and anything your toyboy Arenas has done, is more than matched by those players.

When Areans donates $50,000 US out of his own pocket for children of war torn countries and delivers the goods himself to the war torn countries then come an dtalk to us about saint Arenas. Or when he build a hospital in Africa to help out the struggling people.

Yes he has done this great gesture where he signed gurnseys that were given to him and they got auctioned off. Big ****ing deal. Has he founded a charity of his own? How much work does he put behind the scenes for charities? Does he hold basketball camps where the money raised goes to charities?
 
And how many players are there in the NBA? You have just compared him to 4 of the most generous - why not compare him to the 100's of others who probably dont do shit. I bet they would make Gilbert look like a saint.

2,000 x 100 = $200,000.00 raised for signing just a few jersey's.

Gilbert also works with Hoops for the Homeless and has his own charity, zerotwohero that works with kids from impoverished or difficult family/home situations.

He is widely considered one of the most charitable NBA players going around, and certainly does more for his fans than any other player.

Last year he donated $100 for every point he scored to a Washington DC school - totalled $120,000 by the end of the year

Or in 2005 when the NBA awarded him the community Action award for not just buying $18,000.00 worth of food to feed the homeless, but hand delivering it around some of the worst ghetto's in DC.

I'm not asking you to like Gilbert Arenas, some people don't like confident young players having fun and making millions at the same time - but calling him selfish is just plain ignorant of the many, many things he does for people. And refusing to accept this information when it's offered right in front of you just shows you to be a hater and nothing more.
