I know that Adelaide picked up Aiden Parker in the rookie draft this year after being overlooked in the past 3 drafts. I remember him being a pretty handy player for Subiaco in the WAFL but I haven't heard much about him this year.

Can any Crows fans fill me in on how he's going, what your thoughts are of him?

He has been OK. He has had his bad games and good games but the pleasing thing is he has had more good games than bad. He has been used a bit differently to what he was used to at Subiaco. He has played 2-3 games across half forward and he looked OK. On Saturday he had his best game to date as he collected 20 possesions and 8 marks in extremely ordinary conditions. It was p*ssing rain on Saturday. He used the ball well and is starting to add a bit more rebound to his game.

At Crows they are rating him pretty highly and I wouldn't be surprised if he is promoted to the senior list.;)

Stiffy has summed it up pretty well. He's a very good chance to get promoted to the list at the end of the year if he can add another dimension to his game, which is running rebound. At this stage he is a very good negative backmen, but the rebound is necessary to make it at AFL level.

He's a young man with both good character and work ethic which always helps.

Played a fantastic game for South on Saturday - was probably close to our best player and was very solid, especially considering we were belted by 15 goals or more.

I watched this guy for the first time this morning (West v South on fox). It certainly looks like he has added that rebound to his game. He gathered plenty of kicks across half back. He was one of South's best.

He did have a few rebounds outside 50 which was good. One thing that I noticed is that when he rebounds, he never goes further up the ground than wing. I don't know if its the instructions from Ando but I would like to see him run a bit more up to the half forward flank. But you are right, he did rebound a fair bit in thet game. Do you think he has what it takes to make it at AFL?;)

Pleased to hear that Dave. On that basis he'd be a certainty to be added to the main list at the end of the year.

I'm smelling that the salary cap is preventing that at the moment which is a pity.

Well as Parker has not been upgraded to the full list with all our injured talls, I can't see him getting a game this year. Hopefully he continues to impress at SANFL level, as there should be a spot for him in 2004 with the delistings of Marsh, Nelson, Schell, Shirley, etc.

If we don't get a ruckman via trade I can guarantee you that Marsh will not be delisted.;)
If AFC don't draft/trade for a replacement for Marsh in 2004 they are fair dinkum idiots!!!

Easier said than done mate. No one is going to hand you over a ruckman. You have to pay the price and usually for a ruckman it is a very high price.

Maybe we will have to put up with Marsh in 2004 and draft a ruckman who will take a while to develop.;)

Hey FreoDocker, I just thought I'd ask you about Bryon Schammer. I was a friend of his when he lived over here. How is he going over there? Is he getting a lot of game time?

And on Aidan, well he's done very well in the SANFL. Will be a great player when he plays for the national league!!!! He has a great personality :D A all-round legend!!!

Spot on young Stiffster. It's annoying that we didn't draft either Brogan or Jamar when we had a chance to, and now we are stuck with this great streak of misery, Ben Marsh, who still can't get a game when all the experienced talls are unavailable.

Whoever we do go after, whether by trade or draft, is likely to be young and relatively inexperienced, and for that reason, unless Marsh is part of any trade, expect to see Ben Marsh on our list in 2004.:(
