There you ****en go!

We win the best-of-the-rest competition at under 16 level, and what do they give us? two seats at the 'you can make us a buck' festival at the AIS!

My house to a brick that Kyle has net a Daniher before he met ANYONE from the AFL.

If you think I'm a bit bitter then read the ENTIRE thread entitled 'More empty AFL rhetoric'

AIS Intake ?????

Yes, I must agree, I find it difficult to comprehend the omission of Kotzur and to a lesser extent the captain Clarke from ACT/NSW.

I saw all the games, I am surprised James Pavone from QLD was not selected along with Brendon Jones from WA.
And a little surprised at some of the SA selections.

One of the Victorian boys selected McConnell was injured in the first 10 minutes of the first match and virtually never played in the carnival !!!!
I dare say he obviously has plenty of ability which was enough to convince the selectors before the carnival that he was a "Monty" to be picked.

I guess if the selection is to be done purely on what happens in the U16 championships then McConnell shouldn't be in there. However, McConnell had played six TAC Cup U18 matches this year for the Eastern Ranges (who are unbeaten and are not an easy side to break into as a young player) with an average of 11 possessions. He probably deserves a spot.

As for the Division 1/Division 2 thing, the Division 2 numbers have been similar most years:
5 in the 2002 squad
5 in the 2001 squad
9 in the 2000 squad
7 in the 1999 squad
6 in the 1998 squad

And Chris Johnson from WA: Does anyone know if he's the son of Alan Johnson who played for Melbourne?

C.Johnson

Yes, I believe Chris is Alan's son and he plays for East Fremantle even though Alan played over here for Perth.
Will Chris be available to Melbourne under the father/son rule?

Yes, because Alan played 135 games for Melbourne.

How many games did Alan play for Perth and would that qualify Chris for father/son to a Western Australian club as well? I don't know what the rule is for WAFL players sons.

glad to see Billy Morrison from my ol club North Hobart get a guernsey. He kicked 9 as a 15yo playing senior footy last year!

Flexible, can you advise what player types these guys are, ie midfielder, key forward etc?

Types of players U/16's

Which players would you like to inquire about.
Johnson looks like he will be taller than his father and is a utility type who I think can play both ends of the ground.
