Funny how ex champion players of the club such as A Jarman & C McDermott who both were retired on unsavory terms with the club are very quick to put the knife in when we are struggling to win games.
I wouldn't have thought that waiting until the club is 2-7 was exactly quick.

I've got to say that A Jarman was a hell of a player for the Crows - in one direction.

My abiding memory of watching Adelaide in Melbourne in the 92-93 timeframe is on opposition midfielders running throught the corridor game after game with a prominent member of our midfield doing little or nothing to try and stop them.

Beat me to it. If there's one player who should know all about selfishness, it's Andrew Jarman.

Perhaps to an extent but it was really only at the end of his career and he paid the price.

Jars gave 100% every week for the AFC which can't be said about Andrew McLeod.

How he was given in the best players in the paper is beyond me. 2nd half he was an absolute passenger and he missed a vital goal.

He may need to go back to the SANFL.

Not the first time AJ & Bones have have done so & i guess it wont be the last.

Stretching back to last season we're 3-12 mate... how long do you suggest they wait to pass comment? They're life members of the club, they have every right to speak their mind.

i doubt they wil drop a player regardless of his name if he gets 25 disposals and 2 goals.Even though he ****ed me off so much last friday.
Also why did they say Carey only got 1 goal when got 2 that kick off the ground was not by bock.

What can we do? Would a change to a smarter gameplan provide the challenge he needs?

I would just be happy if we could think of a smarter game plan cause the one we have now is just getting worse and worse and hit absolute rock bottom on friday night if you have to pass the ball across your own goal front twice to get out of your defensive 50 then geez there is something very wrong:mad:

It's officially been credited to Bock and rightly so - Carey's two attempted hacks at it both missed, Bock got the only touch.

Anyone else listened to Sunday Roast this morning?????? Andrew Jarman was on to give his opinion on both the Crows and the Power and boy did he give McLeod a rocket. He said McLeod is playing for himself and is not playing for the team. He is not playing for the jumper and he should have a goot hard think about where his footy is taking him in the next couple of year. He said that youngsters have been performing well but its the senior core of players that has been very disappointing this year. He said of the senior players Ricciuto is the only one who can hold his head high the rest should pull their finger out.

Bloke is passionate, you got to give him that and he actually did talk a lot of sense for a change.

EDIT: He also said that Carey has been giving his heart and soul to the football club and has copped a lot of unwarranted flak.

Is this the same Andrew Jarman who once refused to don the club's guernsey after being dropped?

that said, I agree there is not enough output from the senior players. every team has it's match winners, and if they are not in form, then it is very hard to win matches.

I disagree. I can recall several occasions where he provided far less than 100%.

Some of the stuff he did at AFC is far worse that McLeod’s form slump.

Late 93 I remember him on SAFM stating that he turned up to pre season training “as big as a whale”.

In early 94 he was questioned about his weight on 5AA. AJ disregarded the comments saying he “needed a bit of fat there to protect him going in for the ball”.

For mine, it was a great display of how complacent the Crows were.

Early in the 94 season he was unhappy with Cornes playing him in a forward pocket due to Cornes concerns with the pace of the side. Cornes also thought that by playing him in a pocket he could help Mods.

It was a fairly sound plan. If it had of worked, we could have got 40 – 50 goals out of him.

AJ just wouldn’t put in for the team and he got dropped back to Norwood.

I remember all the drama that it caused. KG' ran his "ya cant drop a champion" campaign in AJ’s defence on 5AA.

This campaign was designed to not only keep him in the side (which failed) - but also to keep him on the list!

There were rumours as early as May he was trade bait!

The only decent game AJ played that year was the State match.

Then there was 96.

He started really well, but after the Jarmans Channel 9 news report was axed due to the fact that was in breach of Team Rules he turned to ****.

He eventually got dropped back to Norwood and as previously mentioned refused to play.

I hated that, it really hurt!

He was not my fave player, but I lost a lot of respect for him when he refused to play.

Can I just ask - what did AJ suggest AFC and Andrew had to do to improve?

Did he just bag them or did he actually provide constructive advice?

What's his answer to our problems?

Did he provide any?

Yeah that's what I thought you meant... it's just my post you quoted wasn't serious.

Have no problem with past champions making comment/criticism on how the club/players are performing as long as it's constructive,

But what does get up my goat "friend" is blaming one player for all our woes & misfortunes & suggesting he should be dropped to the SANFL to regain his form, well that is a load of cods-wallop "friend" especially coming from someone as committed & team orientated as A Jarman, geez it's bad enough hearing those thoughts come from some Crow supporters at BF.

As for C McDermott (who i once bloody worshiped as a player) it was only a couple of years ago when he stated on live radio that G Ayres was as he called it "a dead man walking" & would not last out the year as coach of the AFC as the board was putting the knifes in his back.
