At this stage of the season, this is what I think the All-Star five would look like at the moment:
C-Paul Rogers. The Wildcats started slowly, but have picked up recently with a lot of help from this guy. Will be starting centre at 2004 and possibly 2008 Olympics.
F-George Banks. Has taken us back to the days when imports dominated on every team, can do it at either end of the court, inside and out. Scored Canberra's first 21 points tonight!
F-Matt Nielsen. Making his name as Australia's premier forward. In a team with such talent as Shane Heal,Ben Melmeth and Frank Drmic, still manages to average more than 20 points per game.
G-Willie Farley. Well, what can you say, one of the most dangerous offensive players we have seen in this leage for a while. Adelaide had two exellent imports in Darnel Mee and Kevin Brooks, but Farley has ably replaced both.
G-Shane Heal. Are the glory days of Andrew Gaze being far and away the best native player in the NBl over? Methinks yes. Heal has done it all this eason, leading the league leaders, and topping the NBL in both points and assists. I bet Phil would still have his job as national coach if this guy had played against New Zealand.
