Key midfielder Ally Dallaway spoke to Richmond Media after her first official training with the playing group.
“I’m super excited to be back,” Dallaway said.
“We have been training for a few months, so it’s exciting to be finally, officially back.
“I did miss my teammates, but we all love each other very much, so we did see each other quite a bit. It’s hard to keep away.”

Dallaway is entering her fifth season in the AFLW, having played for the GWS Giants for three years, prior to joining Richmond in 2024, where her impact was felt immediately.
Known for her work ethic and two-way running ability, Dallaway said that the side didn’t waste any time getting back into high-intensity running.
“It was a great session,” Dallaway said.
“We started off with a six-minute run. There were a lot of hard runs, but it was good to see some girls coming back from injury like Coxy (Katelyn Cox) and Monty (Montana McKinnon), to get their run in.
“It was a really good session.”
Entering her second season in the Yellow and Black, Dallaway said she has found her feet amongst the playing group.
“It’s really good and I’m very happy to be here, I love the Tiges,” Dallaway said.
“It was a really good year last year to just be able to build that connection with the team, but I’ve been here for a year now, and I’m comfortable, so I’m really excited for the season.”

Richmond had a strong start to their 2024 campaign, finishing with six wins and a draw from 11 games, finishing seventh on the ladder.
Despite an early exit from the first Elimination Final at the hands of Port Adelaide last season, Dallaway is hoping to tap into the side's unfilled potential and strive for more successes in 2025.
“I think from the playing group, we made finals and we were pretty happy with our results, but we all know that we can do a lot better and get some more wins on the board,” Dallaway said.
“So, I think we want to be more consistent throughout the year and really push for that top spot.
“Personally, I just want to build a strong connection with the midfield and bring my strengths and compliment the girls around me.”
The AFLW 2025 season will start the week of August 11, with each side playing a total of 12 games over 12 weeks.
