Almost Trades?!

ive been reading in other forums about trades that nearly happend, but for one reason or another fell through at the last minute. i know about zantuck and alvey nearly coming to us a year earlie, but sheedys fax was on the fritz or something like that. i also heard that joe misiti was seconds away from been traded. can anyone tell me more about that? who to and what for? i would have been gutted had smokin joe been traded!

i know that we could of had Daniel Kerr in the draft in 01 i think it was.

but nah Dordiro went for James Davies instead of Daniel Kerr

We said no after a fitness assessment, we didnt wont to take the risk as he had a dodgy ankle at the time.

You win some and you lose some, ATM you would say we stuffed up but what if we had traded him and he spent the season on the sidelines with ankle problems....

We nearly picked up Scott West a few years ago when Rocket Eade took over.

we were offering Walsh or a round 2 or 3 pick i think.

The deal fell over as the club couldn't face the supporter backlash.

Yep in '03. Refused to go though and accepted less $$ to stay at Essendon.

Jacobs who was chasing $$ ended up getting shipped out.

Essendon in effect chose between Jacobs and Bolts as the one they wanted to keep- I know which I would've prefered. Although pick 6 and Alvey for Jacobs was a great result.

If I remember at the time Jacobs was offered being offered big money by Carlton to go into the PSD.

Thankfully he didn't chase $$$ so that we got some compensation- Hopefully Bradley eventually comes good.

nah, the rumour just kept coming up because he is from the area
