Well it looks like we are a top 6 side in 2008 and only the saints standing in our way of being a top 4 side.
The Saints and the Hawks standing in our way of being a top two side and the Saints, Hawks and Cats standing in our way of being no 1.

Simple really. :thumbsu:

Also, is it just me or have we got a few "bunnies" these days from interstate. Adelaide, Port and Sydney seem to be our Brian Lara and we are Glenn McGrath. :D

Too bad we are Carlton's bunnies. Need to get over that mental hurdle by spanking them in a GF one of these years.

It's interesting to think back to our first proper game for the season, being our dubai debacle against the crows. Coming out of the game for many, the club was stuffed, and Adelaide were a force. It's funny how things turn out.

I'd prefer the rest of the league was our Cullinan and we were Warne, but I'll take it for now.

We need to work on improving our performances throughout the season, history says you can't win the flag from outside the top 4, at least since the current top 8 system was introduced.

It seems that we are an above average finals team, once we're in there, we just need to make every post a winner.

I can't remember, when Adelaide won it from 7th was that the old final 8 system or the current one?

I just think that the last few times that we have been in a final series, we have come up against the gun team with gun players and we have been a straight kick, (or a goal umpire with impared vision) away from a premiership. Its getting a bit tired and old fashioned if you know what I mean. Hopefully we are building towards a team that would have a window of opportunity when Geelong and Hawthorn are on their way down, similar to Port against Brisbane.
I guess its not just about playing great its also about timing your run and window of opportunity. :thumbsu:

They won it from 6th position. Back then it was the two lowest place losers that went out in week one. 1v8, 2v7 3v6 (Melbourne beat the crows during the 1st week, luckly for them 7th and 8th lost that week.) The rest is history.

yeh adelaide lost in the first week but under the old system they didnt get knocked out. if it was the current system they wouldnt have progressed

Yep and it S^*t's me that we finished 3rd in 1992 and got knocked out after one loss. When it was the final 6 back then. Only 1st and 2nd got the double chance.
