I have been having a think. I think the alternat strip that the AFL is 'suggesting' all clubs adopt cannot succeed. I'd be surprised if they even mention it again. Remember they are suggesting strips of a different colour if need be.

My Reasons:

1. two of the clubs who have as many if not more clashes with other strips hve refused point blank to change. If Essendon and Collingwood will not change which clashes are left ? Carlton/tigers/melbourne ? Hardly the worst examples.

2. This leaves the rest changing strips for no result at all. Why need hawthorn and Sydney change at all ? there is no need.

3. If a club changes strip for one clash, would it neccesarily work for another clash.

Try this with your clubs strip (I use Hawthorn as an example)

1. List the clubs your clubs strip has a 'major' clash with. List all the colours of those clubs ( Hawks don't really clash but there is some difficulty with the new WCE home strip.- so list Navy Blue, Gold and White)

2. List the clubs your clubs strip has a 'minor' clash with. List all the colours of those clubs (For Hawks its Lions - Magenta and royal blue, Crows - red and navy blue, Tigers - black)

3. List all the major colurs not covered in the list. This colour guernsey will not clash with any of those teams (the colour left is green )

4 So the Hawks will play in socceroos shirts.
