Have heard from a few sources now that he's not happy with Essendon (or it could be Knights) and wants to join his brother at Melbourne.

Would anyone here be against offering Essendon our Pick #24 for him, in the event that he does want out?

.... wouldn't mind enquiring about Aaron either

I'd happily have a look at him. Not sure I rate him as highly as many seem to...only played 19 games, and obviously struck a couple of decent injuries along the way. Surprisingly he's also 24.

I don't know....Russell and a 3rd rounder for Davey? Bentick and a third rounder for Davey? Carrazo for Davey?

Would err on ths side of caution with Aaron though...history of soft tissue injuries that only become more prominent with age.

Yes I could accept that even Russell for Davey but doubt they would want that.

Line ball, but I would consider it. Given that our second round selection is going to be #24, it may be paying a little over the top for him. Still, he certianly brings something to the table that we lack - elite speed, and another crumbing goal-kicker.

I don't think Davey is a proven consistent player yet, so I wouldn't be offering a 2nd round pick especially since he's just done his knee.

If Hurley was available at pick 6 we could consider using pick 24 to secure Davey, but if Hurley is taken before 6 (ironically enough, it would most likley be Essendon who would take him before us) we will take Hartlett or Zeibell at 6, which means we will need that pick 24 to stake our claim to some of the young KP talent in this draft.

Obviously the trade period will be done and dusted by the time we will find out about our pick 6 so IMO too risky, unless part of the deal is leaving Hurley to fall to us at 6 ;)

I think you will find both Hurley and Davey will be at Essendon next season.

A classy mid or 3 and your team might almost be competitive (if all your KP's could harden the fucl< up over their soft tissue injuries)

Please pardon my ignorance, but I assume if our second pick is #24 then there are two priority picks going to Melbourne and the WCE - do Melbourne get 17 & 19 and WCE get 18 & 20 ?

Our backline needs more help than our midfield, we did manage to run you guys around twice so not as bad as you may seem to think.

Davey would most likely go to Melbourne if he wanted to move, but by all accounts (people at the club, not kids off BF) he is very happy. Guess we'll have to wait and see though.

THE lure to play AFL with his brother was strong, but not strong enough to rip Alwyn Davey out of Essendon. The livewire forward signed a two-year contract extension with the Bombers last month, but not before spending a week contemplating a late-season inquiry from Melbourne.

"Melbourne were pretty close," Davey, 24, said this week.

"I did give it some thought because I probably won't play with my brother again, so I thought about that a real lot

:)

Poor Melbourne have tried everything to convince some-one, anyone to go there!:p
Is their a sister rule? Maybe a "Dees" footballer sister who is playing netballer can be drafted!!!!!:D

Haha, are Russell and Bentick meant to be incentives?

Hmmm... I know you guys might have alot of #1 draft picks and Judd, but are you forgetting that our midfield out-classed yours twice last year??? On paper people think we have an absolutely rubbish midfield, but they actually do quite well when it counts. Defence is our real weakness and, along with incredible misfortune with injuries, cost us most of our games last year.
