i know that i might get ripped to shreads for this suggestion and that this might not even be and answer but how about dropping some players?

I don't mean fringe players i mean big name players like St. kilda did last year with Dal Santo and Milne.

My first suggestion is a big one, Cloke. he has been going down hill since he won the Copeland, he hasn't stood out in a single game this year and quite a few last year. If we drop him we are not only showing him but all of the players that if you don't preform you don't get a game.

I doesn't necessarily have to be this week, but it could get him into gear for the St kilda clash. Thomas is another name that i would put forward even though he was a better today.

Both these player have the ability to change or win a game off their own boot and maybe dropping them might give them the insentive to do so.

I don't think many will rip you to shreds mate.... Both players have been terrible this year. Cloke isn't given the chance due to the gameplan and Thomas needs to stop playing for free kicks and focus on getting his hands on the ball.

There are a lot more players that need to be dropped before them however so I can't see it happening.

Who else thinks that Buckley could be EXACTLY what we need right now. He obviously doesn't agree with Malthouses way of coaching and anything that opposes MM's gameplan has got to be good.

We need to find a foward structure that works consistantly. Last year it was acceptable but make shift. Medhurst is a star and carried the foward line for most of last year which while it worked to a degree is undesirable for a foward of that size to be your number one.

The two things that could help is to A) bring the ball up quicker making it easier for the smaller fowards. The other option is to find another big guy who effectively draws the ball. Cloke is good when he has another big guy to take some attention.

I do agree with you on Cloke , could not be more useless this year if he wanted to.

Hmmm.
Problem with cloke is he plays wide and becomes in effective because his shots for goals are closer to the boundry line.

Dropping players is the easy answer, however it upsets team balance. N.Brown has had a reasonable season because Presti is there to take the oppositions best forward.

Dropping cloke and Rocco would mean Anthony gets the best backman, i.e Scarlett from Geelong.

I'd like to see the pies straighten up and play through the centre of the ground instead of the boundry lines.

Does anyone know how far away Rusling is?

Thomas being dropped?

Please....dropping the guys who actually try to run themselves into the ground and tackle?

mate im sick of hearing that as an excuse! what is the point of running yourself into the ground if you cant hit a pass to a leading forward at the end of it. Sure it sometimes pays off, and you need these runners but he has to be smarter about it! It did not pay off once today

Thomas is far from the worst offender in terms of butchering the ball inside 50. Infact, he is one of the better ones! Pendlebury and Leon are the clear standouts, both were sensational today and kept us in it. Thomas and Lockyer are okay going inside 50. Medhurst is brilliant going inside 50 too actually. Didak is okay. Obree is terrible but makes up for it with other work. Fraser is terrible going inside 50. Cloke is terrible at it. Barham and Toovey are awful going inside 50 (when Toovey gets that far up). Swan is pretty poor at it too.

When the ball is in the hands of Pendlebury and Davis, things happen. We need to work on getting the ball to these guys outside 50 or we're going nowhere.

And boy oh boy is that corridor elusive.

Time and time again Corridor is in space. Why the hell doesn't Mick ever man him up....

Right, except he does hit forwards, quite often.

He'd be one of our leading score assist players I'd imagine.

Absurd to drop him.
