I recall a number of you Carlton Supporters wanting to trade Lance to the Bullies during the trade week....I bet you guys are glad Pagan and O'Sullivan weren't as down on Lance as some of you guys.

Good Luck Saturday night. Nick Stevens will be wearing a black arm band in memory of his manager's father who passed away Wednesday morning, he was also my father in law.....so good on Nick for that!

sorry to hear that news!

As far as Lance goes I'm glad we kept him. It wasn't that long that he was on of the premier CHF's in the Competition. With a footballer like Lance you never lose that abilty.

It wasn't that long ago that Nathan Eagleton's head was on the chopping block!

Mate he's played well in 2 practice matches against an ordinary Essendon and Melb. When he strings a few real matches together against top opposition i'll be happy.

I aknowledged that in a thread rating his value in 2005 to that of which Hamill could deliver & was lynched by the usual suspects.

We all know that even in his low times, Lance had the ability.
It was an attitude & fitness problem, in particular fitness.

Now that this seems rectified, his ability to string several performances together will be more likely rather than a few cameos before submissing to injury.

Good for Lance, & lucky for us.

I still shudder to think what he could have delivered to the Saints with their list for a measly pick 17.
Apparently if 17 & 27 were on the table, we would have taken it.

It was always going to be the trade that was a loss for us & a gain for who-ever picked him up.

Many of us just eagerly await his Wiz performances to be taken into the season proper.
But at this point, I think several opposition clubs, particulary someone like Brissie may rue an opportunity lost.

Easy to say that in hindsight, he was doing nothing and did not justify his huge salary. If he were at any other club then he would've got the boot. It looks like now we've made the right decision, althought that still remians to be seen come the season proper.

Condolences to you and Nick Stevens. I hope he plays his heart out. :(

to me It doesn't matter who or when he has played those two games against ..it's all about HOW he has played them . I am convinced he will be a driving force for the blues this year barring injury

Well put.
I'm pretty confidant we wont see "niggling' soft tissue injuries as a result of a poor fitness base.
So serious / un-preventable injury aside, we should see the Lance of old putting it together on a regular basis - be it winning or losing team performances.

I laughed when it was said that Lance may be coming to Moorabbin... if the price was right the Saints would have screwed you in the trade period again...

He looks very good doesn't he... IMO he will guide your mob into September this year

skeptic are you implying we were skrewed with Hammil?

I'm quite happy with Pick 4 and Luke Livingston. It's taken a while but Luke is going to very good for us.

yes i shudder at the thought of Lance playing with the saints line up ..i think the premiership would be (to steal a line from somewhere) a cake walk for the saints

Geez... a fit Hamil with a fit Whitnall, not to mention Riewoldt and Gehrig. That's an undefeated season. No defence would be able to counter such a strong forward line... unless you ask Yze_Magic about Rivers.

IIRC the Saints traded Matty Lappin for pick 20 something. Lets call it even.
