Andrejs on the chopping block?

What has sparked this thread? I find it very hard to believe he's on the chopping block, I suspect he's just sounding out a few options before he makes a commitment, as his value would have sky-rocketed this year but he's no guarantee of a game. I think we'd be very keen to keep him, but if he gets a great deal elsewhere then we'll send him off with out blessing, much like Mummy.

I'd keep him only because I don't think we'll get anything useful out of a trade for him, would be a handy backup but obviously that wouldn't be a position to his liking.

His name keeps popping up as a trade target.

Below is just one of teh few articles that have been published where his name appears.

SYDNEY SWANS
The Swans' main aim should be improving their position for the upcoming NAB AFL Draft. They currently have selections 14, 31, 49, 67, 85 and 121, and while some talent can no doubt be found there, the Swans should be doing their best to move up in the draft. Jesse White wants out and Tony Armstrong and Andrejs Everitt are off contract and should have some value to other clubs. They could do with some added depth defensively and in the ruck, but the Swans are relatively happy with their list and don't have much room to move following the additions of Kurt Tippett and Lance Franklin over the past 12 months. It won't be easy, but snaring another first or second-round pick should be the priority. - James Dampney

I would keep him to replace Shaw when Shaw pull its and use him as a running HBF as his foot skills and speed are also pretty good. Even though he is 194cm he doesn't play that 3rd tall role very well like a LRT do I see him replacing Shaw more than LRT and with LRT and AJ back in 2014 Everitt could be freed up to use his run of the HB. I would rather keep him as he is only 24 than give him away for a 4th rd pick no doubt.

Everitt has been great for us this year but im assuming he's asked for more money and we can't afford to give it.

If we can get a fringe/established/young ruck man like Longer, Lycett, Hannath, etc at the cost of Everitt & Armstrong, it might be worth it. Otherwise, I definitely say keep Everitt for the money.

When can we delist Tommy Walsh?? :D

Who gives an Irish **** that hadn't played a game a 3 year contract?

People with a better idea than you. So what if it didn't work out. He played games, was an emergency in our Premiership team and sadly hit with an injury that cost him game time when he was about to get a run of senior football with our injury list.

Another year won't hurt.

Clearly, they didn't have a better idea than anyone on this particular occasion.

Yeah, but they're both out of contract, so what are you going to do? No point doing an Adelaide with this one.

GWS can't guarantee grabbing both of them in the PSD. They'll get Mummy, but they'll have to trade for Everitt at least, unless there are literally no other clubs willing to take a punt on him.

Currently out of contract but unless he asks for a trade, I think it's a mistake to let him go. Finally had a decent run in the seniors this year and has shown plenty. Can go fwd, Can go back. A perfect replacement for LRT.

For what LRT has brought to the side over the years he is in a different stratosphere to Everrit. He was a stop gap backman at best this year and if LRT & Johnson are available this year he does not play. Played a role and tried his arse off but turned the ball over many times with little or no composure under pressure. As far as going forward goes, he has struggled to lock down a place in the past and there will be no place there for him next year with hopefully a healthy Goodes spending a fair bit of time there.

Sorry to be harsh but let him go imo. Loved his commitment and persistence but time is up.

As a good mate of Bedford's says of Walsh, Ross Lyon had him pegged early. Cannot play. Ok to use his size to snag goals at VFL Level with Sandy but Lyon refused point blank to play him.Has no clue at AFL Level how to play a role in a forward structure other than to crash and bash. Not quite Paul Chambers but not far off.
