To be perfectly honest I don't know a lot about this bloke or the Fremantle football club :o. But I was just wondering though where do you think he will play next year? And do you think that he will be in the 22 on a regular basis? I would greatly apprciate any information that you can give me about this guy. :)

getting in nice and early on the dream team research..
fringe best 22, for mine probably player 23, needs 1 midfielder to go out to get a game. have a look at the best 22 threads if you're that curious

Andrew Foster will be a gun. Bookmark that.
He played all year in the East Freo firsts and averaged near on 30 possies a game before he got his first call up.

He's a midfielder and he's fairly quick off the mark and from i've seen he can pretty much run all day..

He'd be fringe 22 at the moment.. but all it takes it for a chance and I think he'd grab it with both hands.. :thumbsu:

Not sure what the other posters are on about, he is in the 22 for sure, he proved that at the end of this year. I would of rated him as one of our best players or top 8 or so for all of his 3 games. Will prove himself in the Pre-season and will play every game barring injury, will probably take McManus' spot in the 22.

i like foster. i rate him. but unfortunately i cant see him being in the 22. i think mark johnson, a fit peak and schammer plus the emergence of brock obrien may mean he will miss out for a while, i mean

belly, josh, palmer, schammer, peak, crowley, hasleby, mark johnson, des, with the possibility of mundy and mj going into the midfield...... where will he fit???

as much as i would like foster to be in there. i dont think he will be

I can't see Brock being in the team ahead of Foster at this stage. Not sure how they are training, but based on last season, Foster would have to be ahead of Brock. The pre-season games should be interesting - there should be plenty of competition for place in the 22.

ETA: Have just read that Brock was only doing basic drills away from the main group at training on 4/1 - I assume he is recovering from injury? If so, does anyone know what and if he's likely to even be fit for round 1?

yeah good call, i think foster is definetly ahead of brock, dont know what i was thinking with that call. but my point remains the same, that i dont think foster will be in the 22 with our depth. im sure they will both probably play preseason matches. i think i heard that harvs is going down the other road to cuddles and not concerntrating on the nab cup too much and more on the development of the younger guys, meaning that they both should get a game if fit

brock was running fairly fluently around the oval, doing 400's so i really dont think he is suffering from anything too serious, but im no doctor.

I think the "Cult of Brock" may have influenced your thoughts there FE. ;) Foster (at this stage) is way ahead of Brock, and hopefully (from a Buddy POV) he's there in the 22 for Rd 1 and stays there through the whole season .

yeah yourprobably right. although im definetly not one of the cult of brock members. im pretty hungover so maybe not firing on all cylinders;)

don't say that too loudly or you might find yourself waking up with a horse head tomorrow morning in your bed.

BTW :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu: for being hungover, not that i'm advocating binge drinking but hey it always makes you feel that little bit better knowing someone else is going through the same thing you are

Hopefully that's the plan. I'd like to see the senior guys play 2 of the 4 games to give the young blokes a chance.

yeah give them a bit of touch before the real thing starts. id like to see taz play a few games, and see him unveil this new kicking style, hopefully the champ can be more accurate with it.

Yes and leave jeff and MJ out of it altogether! Maybe just jeff. Do not want ot start the season with Jeff out for six and Mj for 4 again!

Also it will be good to finally see a team with a larger proportion of youngsters play the nab, will be good to actually have a look at them and see how they respond to playing the coasters.

I'd love Freo to say that they aren't going to play any decent players, due to last years suspensions. Love them to say the NAB cup is not important enough to risk playing anyone important. NAB would sure love to see Harvey saying that on the 6oclock news. Shove it up the AFL for over reacting on their suspensions against us last year. I'd pick our team for the NAB cup based on who's the worst and most unlikely to play.
