Have seen him play for bendigo a lot, looks like he will develop into a solid defender, How ever i was reading up on the draft 2004, plus comments and this was his description

Tall forward who is a good contested mark and very good kick for goal. Tasmanian U18s representative in 2004. His agility run of 8.04sec was outstanding for a tall forward at the National Bank's AFL Draft Camp.

Wondering why if we drafted him as a forward are we then trying to turn him into a tall defender, we have an abundance of forwards at the moment and i realise we didnt in 04 but why try and change his natural game????

another thought is put lee at chb, and let kepler run a muck out on a wing seeing as though lee's agility test was so impressive. I know he is young but leaving kepler there is just wasting his talent, Lee will gain more experience playing at AFL.

Turn him into a running Jackovich HB is my dream.

Sheedy tried him at HB how many times this year? he looked big and agile.

Just needs more game time/confidence.Could be the corner stone of our defence. As long as McPhee shakes his blues and finds that champion form and leads the way.

I'v been sayin this all year.We have a great list,on paper. But this year, with ML going out of the match plan, things just went to sh-t cause most of them are so young. Its going to different in 07'

He played at full forward for the last 20 mins against the Kangas didn't after playing on rocca and kicked a goal on the siren was a good lead and mark and kick from outside 50. Looked Classy

Well, they need to do something with Kep...the jury would be out on him now to live up to his top ten status.

If, for instance sheedy has long term plans for lee and CHB, would that mean that we would be in with more of a shot of taking selwood with pick 2 or someone else and not hansen, or will he try to use to him to replace fletcher.

I don't mean to load up on you but i can't believe that so many bomber supporters think it's a good idea to use pick #2 in one of the best drafts ever on a backman.
Fair enough if he's rated as the best avaliable footballer at #2 but otherwise a high pick like this one should be used on a game breaker!!!!! We desperately lack firepower in the midfield, if it's needs based then we should go for a quick attacking midfielderwho can really hurt oppisitions...

How many midfielders do we have?? Watson, JJ, Winders, Pev, Dempsey, Dyson, Lovett...throw in Hird, Campo, Monfries and McVeigh and even NLM and Cole. A key backman would strengthen the balance of our squad considerably.

I'm not denying that we need a key backman to balance our team.
But from that list of midfielders you've got.

Hird, Campo, JJ, Pev - not a real part of our future core midfield group. perhaps only JJ has a spot going forward if we are serious about developing.

Winderlich, Dyson, Lovett - as much potential shines out of these guys a*ses, they really haven't shown enough YET to prove that they'll be a-grade midfielders.

McVeigh, NLM, Cole - these guys aren't really midfielders???? McVeigh has been great playing defensive but i thought after his last unsuccessful trial and his great year that it was obvious he wasn't a midfielder. (out of any of them he'd be the one to prove me wrong)

Watson, Monfries, Stanton - Gunns!!!!!!! (eventually in that order)
Great combo for years to come. All they're missing is a skilled, fast attaking midfielder to pack the puch we've so desperately lacked.....

I'm not saying our midfield is crap, it lacks polish and in todays game where the midfield and their delivery is so crucial. we need to fill this hole.
As for a CHB, there not many out there running aroung who went top five in the draft (Pollak the exception that comes to mind;) )
My answer is to throw Lucas back there when needed and develop the CHF with perhaps Johns or one of the Ruckman.....
Lee, Bradley, perhaps even Ryder (to play on the gorillas) could still still turn out to be top class players.
I'd like to see us get 2 mids and one KP with our first 3 picks

Great Post. I would be pleased if we managed to get selwood or gibbs with our first pick as long as we secure a kpp backman with either pick 18 or 20. Names such as N. Brown spring to mind as likely candidates... I really think that we need to capitalise on the tall talent and get someone who will be able to successfully play back on the 'gorillas' within the next 2-3 years...

Get the midfielder with our 1st pick, we will be kicking ourselves if we don't. Sheedy has mentioned that Johns will go back when needed and when LLoyd is back. Can't wait to watch him or Lee play on J Brown next year.

My hope is that C.Johns is nowhere near the backline next year.

He needs to learn the craft of forward line play, thats where he is suited best.
Hes a bit unco for the BL,plus he can't run for s---t,not for long periods.

Would get the runaround from a J.Brown

johns played back against hawks this year when fletch got inured and looked way out of his comfort zone, hes a much better at kicking the goals than stopping them atm, as for getting a mid i tthink we should only get a nid if gibbs is availiable otherwise i feel that we should pick up hansen, i know that selwood is said to be a absalute gun but we should take the safer option in gibbs, hansen or gumbleton than take selwood, although if we did pick selwood up i wouldnt be complaining.

I liked the look of Lee when he played this year.

if anyone saw alot of his BB games or seen him as a junior I would like to know more about this bloke.

Once he got over the early injuries and got a few games under his belt he was very good in defence. One thing i liked about him is he seems very composed under pressure.

I think that is seconded by every bomber fan.
