All I know is that he like his good-mate Brendon Goddard went to Caulfield Grammar and originally is from Gippsland way. I've heard he is nicknamed 'Mini' for his height but don't know much on his footy. Is he any good?

you'd have to be if you were picked up in the first round by and the best recruiter around

Here is what footydraft.com have to say:

Andrew McQualter

He has bulked up this year after being criticised as being too small, he has genuine football smarts, is a natural leader and always protects his teammates. He averaged over 10 tackles per game in the TAC Cup. He kicks well on either side and his defensive game is excellent. A determined athlete with top 3 results in agility, the 3km run and the beep test.

Sounds well rounded and probably close to being able to play as soon as required.

i like him. he sounds determined, and very much like a luke ball type player. there has been so much hype around deledio, roughhead, meyer, tambling, franklin, williams, meesen etc...... that mini hant been mentioned, i think that is good for him. he can keep a low profile and play his game and blitz the field. Go Mini!!

Not nicknamed Mini for his height. When he was in primary school, he used to hang out with his brother and his mates, who are 5 years older. One of his brother's mates started calling him Mini McQualter and it has stuck ever since.

true that

Mini will be a very good player for years to come for you blokes. Despite his small stature he is very hard at it - the Luke Ball comparsion is not that far fetched although i'm not sure he will reach the lofty heights set by Ball but will be more of a hard role playing midefielder rather than an out and out superstar.

like a nathan burke, when he was in his prime

He is nothing like luke ball or Nathan Burke.
More of a smaller version of Woewodin/Bartel.

But a tougher and more in and under player who also performs he once percenters

I have seen a little of him when he played TAC cup 2003.

Someone mentioned that he racks up the stats without ever really starring. I have to agree with that, he was everywhere getting down and dirty getting the ball and disposing of it quickly. He rarely seems to carry the ball any great length, just gets it and gives it off to someone always to the teams advantage - he makes other players look better through his work.

Seems to be unselfish and a real team player.
