Raines has had reason to be bad this year,
think about it he seemed to have all the confidence in the world last year he wasnt afraid to take on anyone while this year he hesitates to take on 6 foot 5 fowards who cant even run.
So why with an extra year under hes belt hasnt he improved...
Simple, because the richmond backlines experience has been tipped on its head. Last year raines was playing along gasper, andy kellaway, chaffey and ray hall, all who have played many games in the yellow and black now compare it to this year were they have been replaced with the likes on mcguane, thursfield, polak, kingy.
The only other backman that are still down there from last year is Chris N ewman and Joel Bowden, im not saying that any of the backmen i have named are doing a bad job, but what i am saying is that andrew raines went from being the least most experienced backman for the team so really he had nothing to worry about but hes own game, but this year he has had to be one of the leaders down there and worry about others games and whos on who and not worry about himself, as its shown by the kids on field performance he wasnt ready to be an on field leader and the pressure has got to him, i agree 100% that he will be alot better player next year or whenever it is that we decide to make him a permanent on baller.
