I decided not to trade him in round 1 as I thought he would come straight back in to the team but have heard nothing about him what is going on?
 
Good chance he will return this week. Wallace has indicated he will swing the axe.

Would be the obvious replacement for Rance ... however McMahon and Thursfield are also backman trying to get a spot back in the 22.

Now adds to my horrible backline issues !! Raines will be lucky to even hold his spot for next week.

Still have Hodge, Rance, Suban and Raines down back.

1 will become Grimes this week ... solves 1 problem, still leaves 3 :(
 
never understood the man love for this guy. average skills, not in prime yet and injury history.

i wouldnt trade him out if you've kept him this whole time. there must be a reason you kept him. and to trade to grimes who also has injury concerns is asking for trouble.

will stick with houlihan instead, if he can get a game.
 
I held both Raines and Grimes from round 1. Was overseas for 2 weeks before the start of the season and didn't know about Grimes long term injury.

I am ok with both of them. Grimes looks like a first round draft choice and injury permitting will give good value. Raines has now played 2 games, he was injured in the first and the second was in the wet in Port Adelaide, hard to judge on that performance.

Goddard, Cornes, Bowden, Houlihan, Malcewski, Broughton, Raines, Grimes, Greenwood. Traded out MacDonald, Patrenko (at his brief high point) and last week Rance.

I hope they both end up keepers for me, my backline has been inconsistent all season.

He was injured late in last qtr ... it was not time on ground on the injury that cost his score, it was the 5 clangers !!! That should have been enough to tell me that he was not good enough to keep. Something like 25 touches from memory for only 56 :eek:

Raines might even get dropped this week ... if so he's gone from my side.
 
My issue is I'm bringing in Grimes no matter what this week. Do I trade Hodge (who's a keeper but whose price is gonna drop a lot when he comes back), Raines, Hill, or Dawson for him?

Dawson almost appears to be a better prospect than Raines at the moment! If Raines gets dropped, I'll trade him, but if he doesn't, who should I keep? Raines or Dawson? Dawson has been brilliant and his scores are only getting higher!

Also what's a better option, Walker to Sidebottom, or one of the backmen I just listed above to Broughton?
 
I'm in the same boat. Want to get rid of my Adelaide spuds, Petrenko for Broughton and Walker for Sidebottom.

Also in the dilemma of having Houlihan (7th back) not playing and Grimes doing very well for a cheap price, I really need to do 3 trades this week!

If I had Hodge I'd probably trade him out as I don't think he'll be able to recover properly this year as his injury seems to be much worse than the Hawks have let on.

I'd only bring in Grimes if he was going to be a keeper, but is he? answers on the back of a postcard.

I would trade in Broughton

He is a 22yo for starters, so his body is bigger than a rookie and might hold up a bit longer. He has shown he can score well for someone his price. Sidey has scored ok in DT, but his SC has been lower (not what you want)

Walker still has a negative BE too. Even if he only scores 50, he will still jump above 250K this week. If he moves up the ground (like he did against the dogs) he could very well score another 70-80 and give another few weeks of rising.

An option could be (depending how many trades you have remaining)

Raines to Grimes
Hill to Broughton

Which frees up a crap load of cash and then next week upgrade Walker to a premium....

Never thought I would be saying this after holding onto him for 9 weeks ... but I hope Raines get dropped this week. Will make my decision to trade him finally much easier (in saying that I hope Suban gets named as I have no bench cover).

If Raines does get dropped, Rance is only 1-2 weeks away and deserves his spot straight back .... which is more than likely the same sport Raines is fighting for.
 
Just had a look through Raines score over past 5 years.

In approx 55 games he has only score over 100 three times :eek:

Why were we all fooled about the hype? Must have been the 105 and 88 he got in the pre-season. :confused:

He might come good, but I think in the back of my mind im bagging him, because I don't want to regret trading him out and then he comes good :o Either way Grimes looks much better prospect so Ianes or Suban will go (depending on thursdays teams)

I would have traded Suban ahead of Raines, but need the extra dollars to upgrade J.White to Kossie (could have done Suban to Grimes and White to Kosi if not for $600 short :mad:)

Why? You think he is a keeper. It doesn't matter if his price drops 300k if you want him.

I didn't like him from the start. (I had him in and backed my judgement b4 rnd 1 lockout and dropped him) The only way he is ever getting into my team is if he is flying at round 16 or so
