Andrew Walker has begun the 2007 season in fine fasion, but can he keep it up?
i have johncock atm and in light of his recent injury(2 weeks) andrew walker is a prime candidate for his replacement. although i hav enough money($58,200) to buy heath shaw, whom i would much rather buy, walker would save me a lot of players and allow me to trade my lesser players such as nathan foley and angus monfries. if i dont trade johncock it would mean that either riggio or ellis would play for him instead, neither of which have posted scores higher than 35.
i also hav aka in my squad whom i will most likely trade aswell as he is also out for at least 2 weeks. if i dont trade him, alwyn davey will play instead of him who a lot of teams have and is capable of producing a respectable score.

should i trade johncock?
should i trade aka?
should i get shaw or walker?
should i trade monfries or foley or both?

thoughts please

Walker is developing into a gun. I've got no doubts about his consistency - however his DT consistency is a different matter all together. All depends where he plays. If he gets more time in the midfield, he should average 85+, if he plays more off half-back, maybe about 75. In a recent interview he implied that he'd be spending more time in the midfield, however, Heath Shaw will undoubtably be more consistent.

Hey mate im in exactly the same position as you with johncock and aker so this is what im considering doing.

Option.1 Trade johncock for bock, aker for brad johnson
Option.2 trade aker for bock, johncock for shaw.
If i were you id definatly get shaw over walker. Shaw has better defenders around him aka presti, wakelyn and clement to run off rather than walker who just has s*itnall. Shaw is also quite cheap for an elite defender.

I had monfries at the start of the season and traded him for brennan, pritty happy so far. I have foley as well and have decided to give him another week against collingwood. If he doesnt perform against them, he aint gunna perform lol Just remember mate he was one of the biggest cash cows at the start of the season, give him a chance. I know it is tempting to **** him off with players in the same price bracket e.g. young, knights etc all scoring 100 every week. Ill leave it up to you. Good luck:thumbsu:

thanx for the help mate although i've already got bock..... should i trade aka this week or next? i dont wanna use up my trades to quickly, already used 1 last week to trade out mclean.
i am considering brennan for aka but i dont trust him, will he continue his form? i am also considering cameron mooney, brad ottens and nathan ablett as they are also performing well and are fairly cheap, which would free up salary cap space to trade my lesser players such as foley and monfries

what should i do?

I traded aker. I think he will come back in about 3 or 4 weeks and really cant see him posting totals much more than 70. Also he will be very consistant which isnt what you want. I got brennan. Your right he is a risk but his paid off so far. Out of those guys you named, id probably run with mooney, probably the most consistant of the 3. Maybe nathan ablett if you wanted to take a punt and free up some cash however alot of people are saying he only scored alot because he was playing against carlton, as for the majority of the geelong team. Have you got Pav or gary ablett junior? one of those guys would be a good pick!

yeah i've got both of them. mooney, n.ablett, ottens and brennan are the only forwards under 300,000 who are performing. i guess i have to go with my gut and hopefully it will pay off. btw where does brennan play most of his game time? half back flank?

Yeh his been playing on the half back and full back lines doing alot of mopping up and getting easy posetions and marks. Could be worth a run. Other one you could try is ebert but a bit dodge if you ask me lol
