Take this with a grain of salt because it's completely third hand information, but I just got word from a mate here in Adelaide who I know is in Andy's local circle of friends via sms;

"Andy stuffed his knee. Possibly ACL, Possibly worse. Doesn't look good"

He's a gun for you Crows, so I hope he's okay. At least he did it now, and not in March I guess, if there is any brightside at all to be had.

:mad::mad::mad::mad:

WE HAVE TO HAVE A BLOODY ACL EVERY F***ING YEAR! But c'mon 2 in one year!? Suppose we could count this as 2010's....

But not Otten! FFS! Do we have any of our first 22 defenders left?! Truck - injured, Bock - injured, now Otten - injured!

*fingers crossed for good news*

Doubt it will be though....it's the Crows we're talking about. Every injury has to be bloody bad :thumbsd:

Otten hurts knee at training

1:03 PM Thu 03 December, 2009

Young Crow Andy Otten suffered a serious knee injury at training this morning.

Adelaide’s head doctor Andrew Potter said Otten would visit a specialist this afternoon.

Otten, 20, played every game last season - his second year with the Crows - after making his AFL debut in 2008. He finished runner-up in the Rising Star award this year and won Adelaide’s Emerging Talent award.

There will be no further comment from the Club until we have more information.

I can say it didn't look too good when the stretcher had to come out during a full ground drill. He was down for a long time, atleast a couple of minutes, before the trainers could help him onto the stretcher. You could tell how much pain he was in, I am fearing the worst. Also Rendell didn't sound too happy when he got off the phone, saying to someone 'Shit, Andy's done a knee!'. :mad::mad::mad::mad::(

I hope it's not an ACL, loved watching him during the 2009 season and had him after Rich for getting the Rising Star. Hope we can see him play in 2010. If it is ACL, good luck with your recovery Otten.

No, I hope he does the 12 month operation. He's young, don't do half the job, then re-do it later in his career which could be the end of his career. Do the full job now!

Never heard of the 6 month recon. Heard of the 3(think Malceski and Prismal IIRC) and the 12 month(everyone else), here's hoping we can do the 3 month version.

Even Better! Surely if this is possible we MUST do it. 3 months could have him fit by round 2 and maybe playing by 5-6.
