I'm interested to hear that Taylor is being considered. Just got here. Sounds like Neeld tried to make us little Collingwood and just poached everyone.

Never really had much faith in the guy.. I mean look at him.

Did well to get Hogan but nothing else. 3 year deals to Jamar, Pederson and McKenzie will hurt us badly.

Josh Mahoney's position to be advertised too.

Formally request that Peter Jackson from now on only be referred to as Action Jackson.

Didn't Mahoney just get a new role at the club?

I'm not at all sure, but I do vaugely remember hearing something about that a little while back too. Can't find anything in any news articles though... anyone else remember?

I think Craig has mentioned that he's the new football manager and everyone reports to him and he then reports to the CEO. Apparently this was a role we didn't previously have prior to Peter Jackson.

Happy for Mahoney to be gone aswell, and based on that article it looks as if he will be. Total Overhaul....How good is Action Jackson!

Melbourne chief executive Peter Jackson confirmed Harrington's departure last night. "Tim's departure is not performance related. It reflects the need to reduce the overall cost of the structure," he said.

So we are going without a list manager then?

Presumably someone else from within the FD will assume that role (Viney?), or the new head of football.

My recollection is that Mahoney was "acting" in the Football Manager role while Jackson figured out whether he wanted to look internally or externally for the right man.

It's slightly concerning that we are cutting positions from the FD, but I'm willing to go along with AJ for now as all of the decisions made recently appear to be in the best interest of the club.

It's more he was a GM. Our footy department spend was huge because of all these executives. The GMFO will take over Harrington's executive responsibilities and we'll have a more standard recruiting department, with a head who reports to the GMFO, instead of all departments having executives reporting to the CEO.
Part of the Schwabolonic Irrigation by Action Jackson.

Seems Josh Mahoney has three position at the club, whatever it was he was doing in the first place, plus acting football manager, plus acting list manager. Either he is awesome or he is about to be sacked as well and they are just using his name as a filler for the moment.

What's the situation with Brian Royal?
I think Action Jackson will leave the assistant structure alone until we're close on a new coach. There's no point making unnecessary payouts and interim appointments when a new coach will want to rubber stamp any changes to the people working underneath him or her (we've done crazier things...)
It could be a pretty powerful bargaining chip in the selection process.
