Anthony Raso isn't ready and we won't be seeing him in action at seniors level for at least a year.

Yep, Frank Raso. He's doing pretty well too.Kooley said:Sorry about that just saw Raso listed as a best in the paper. There was no initial so i jumped to conclusion. Is the Raso playing for the Bullants the Raso who played at Collingwood? The nuggety On-baller.

And Funkalicous, what risk? Setanta's a rookie listed player. Your an idiot.
Gun players? Which gun players? Thornton and Carrazzo were promoted but he's the only potential gun player we've promoted in the entire history of our club. How many rookies have we had?Funkalicous said:You obviously underrate the importance of the rookie list. Need I remind you of some of the gun players that's been promoted over the years?
Would you've liked to have seen Thornton bumped for an O'hAilpin?
Every club has atleast 2 or 3 good players thanks to the rookie list.gandaal said:Gun players? Which gun players? Thornton and Carrazzo were promoted but he's the only potential gun player we've promoted in the entire history of our club. How many rookies have we had?
Better than Thornton?!gandaal said:Absolute nonsense to think that picking Setanta cost us a player like Thornton. Setanta will probably be our greatest ever rookie player, even better than Thornton. It's more likely we missed out on a Pleming and that's a player I can do without.
gandaal said:And your judging a player on his debut? If you seriously believed Setanta was going to dominate during his first game after only playing 20 or so games of AFL footy in his life than your dumber than I thought.
Funkalicous said:I never expected him to dominate. I never expect any debutant to dominate. I'm not even griping over his 1 kick for the game. My issue with O'hAilpin is that he still doesn't understand the game. He did NOTHING off the ball. Not a God dame thing! Which leads me to wonder, why get an athelete who knows less about AFL than John Howard when there are hundreds of footballers up for draft every season. Those other drafties have grown up with the game for years and have developed a natural understanding of the sport. O'hAilpin looked completely and uterly lost! He needs to play a hundred more VFL games and watch 500 more AFL games to know what to do for next time.
juzza316 said:Would have to agree........He put in absolutely no second effort at all on a couple of occasions i noticed....a Richmond defender would get the ball and start sprinting out of defence, and he was only a few metres away but didnt put in a sprint, just a light jog![]()
I thought he would be absolutely busting his balls to run him down and get a touch of the leather!
He definetly isnt going to be the answers to all our problems.........we won't know for a little while yet anyway.....he has only been playing aussie rules for 2-3 years!!! Unbelievable!
Less. He's been playing for 14 months, two to three of which was lost due to injury and another five months of playing during the summer break. So in reality he's only been playing footy for around six months. It's really quite astonishing that he even debuted so quickly. It took Stynes three years to learn how to play the game.blues4flag said:More like 18 months...
