Guys.......

I am sick to DEATH of this board bull********! Day in, day out. My HUN gets delivered every morning in the rolled up plastic. I look at it and if I see Navy Blue through the shrink wrap, I am scared to open the bloody thing!

I wonder, is it worth the bloody trouble.

It is apparant to me. Regardless if your a Smorgan lover or hater, a follower or a detractor, change is imminent. Smorgo would be better if in my opinion, calling himself a relative of Saddam and trying to run Iraq than our more pirized and coveted footy club.

I don't like him. True. But he has less leadership qualities and 'potential' than Pauline Hanson!

we lucked out on the Smorgon front. He is in slanging matches with fellow 'boardians'. He has lost whatever ground he had. His only saving grace is bringing a board meeting forward and snuffing out any approaching opposition. He will lose regardless.

Is Ari Suss the man? who knows. But he knows how to go about it. He has not been handed a name, fallen into a job, or been given a title. He has looked after and been involved some major business's in the country. God knows, he or one of the statues out the front of the mighty 'G' could do a far greater job than the cabbage patch kid we have for a leader at the moment!

Smorgan does not have the public persona needed to be president.

Smorgan's good haven't been that good for the past few months.

Suss was a former senior adviser to Steve Bracks, and is now the manager of government and corporate affairs for Lindsay Fox's Linfox Australia.

I thought there was a 'Driving Change Together' ticket.

That ticket's only good for zone one, and we have a zone three trip ahead of us.

Four stray directors aren't going to make any difference. We need a *whole* new board. In the meantime, I just want a united board that quietly gets on with the job. The DCT guys might be useful to us, but only maybe as part of the uber-ticket to come.

In other words Suss has never done a real job in his life & never been in touch with the real world. This guy's ambitions have nothing to do with the betterment of the Carlton Football Club, this guy is looking for a political career & the Carlton Football Club is a stepping stone for that.

Those who are seeking change for change's sake, will give us a board that is even more fragmented than it has been with the presence of Diggins & Valmorbida. Don't rate these people on who they are, rate them on what they are bringing to our club. I see no indication that Suss, Fiore, Littman & Clarke are bringing anything that the club needs. We have been told that Moulton, Harrison, Fried & Carr can bring $2 million to the club between them. We haven't heard a word from these other 4, except that they want to remove Smorgon & then go after Sticks. There is quite a few more Caroline Wilson stories in that lot.

Yes, the marketing skills of Littman, Clarke's expertise in running a law firm and the political nous of Suss won't be of any benefit to Carlton.

I don't rate Fiore but Moulton and Harrison appear to have alot to offer the Carlton Football club.

They're nothing more than yes men.

The number of Bluesfans who are just towing the Smorgon line because he's President is frightening. It's even sadder when they think the Bluesfans who want change are just seeking change for change sake when our club is going to the wall.

Or we're going to the AFL for money because they don't have the ideas to raise the funds themselves or even loan the club the money themselves.

Well, we know he's a professional behind-the-scenes politician for the ALP, and seems to have been his whole working life (so he's probably good at it). Maybe that's what we need, but I don't think so, and certainly not unless he puts together a ticket that can sweep the board.

Mr Suss' knowledge of what is required to run a successful business, let alone a successful football club, is miniscule at best.

I agree MS. Why does it seem that all of a sudden these rival tickets are forming, and hastily formed ones at that.

I don't think that Smorgon is the ideal person to run the Carlton Footy Club, but I would prefer him to lead us this year than a ticket that appears, on face value alone, to have been formed over a few Lagers in someones living room on a Sunday night.

Hi All
If you have read all my CARLTONS WEEK FROM HELL parts you would know that the threads I have posted have all been about information that I have received from people inside the Carlton football club
This information is for you to decide come voting time at the AGM
This is not another one of those threads
In the next week watch for the war of words from the Smorgon group as they try to throw as much mud as possible at Diggins
Why
Because with two board members gone who have stood up to Smorgon and blocked his dictatorship Diggins is the only remaining thorn in Shorgons side
Also watch for proof and I mean proof to come out in the paper over the next week regarding the underhanded acts being taken from Smorgon and Malouf
Its time for the truth to be revealed

Absolutely ridiculous comment ILF. The only reason Smorgon is getting support from Carlton fans is because at least he is providing an option. Who else is making a real stand and providing and viable opposing ticket to challenge him. The four idependents who are forming a ticket can realistically do nothing if they get on the board and you know that.

When a strong group actually puts their hand up and stands, then we can look at making a change, but until that time we have Smorgon and as supporters we should give him the opportuntiy for the final time to improve the clubs situation. Rather than getting stuck in to other supporters, you should look at those who yet again have failed when push came to shove to make a stand against Smorgon and question them. Everybody knew there was an AGM coming in the New Year, our season finished at the start of September. My question is if you are serious about challenging, is 4 months not long enough to organise a ticket? You tell me!

You can't honestly say that the club and it's board won't make progress off the field and stand behind a new President if Smorgon, Fried and Carr aren't there come Feb 9. The ridiculous comments were made by MS in his pathetic attack on Ari Suss and saying we're only voting for change on a whim.

I'm insulted by Smorgon's comments that his ticket are the only board who can take this club forward when he turned us into beggars.

They should have got their act together earlier, but Tom Elliott said Smorgon's decision to move the AGM forward caught them by surprise and interrupted their plans for a ticket. That appears to be purely a political act to beat his opponents because the new ticket would have stood a greater chance of winning.

It isn't very democratic of a President to deny more than 3000 members the chance to vote for two legitimate ticket and have a proper say in how their club is run.

What is Smorgon afraid of?

What did Diggins call him again?

Smorgon isn't acting in Carlton's best interests but his own and he has to go.

Diggins is an absolute disgrace to the club so you won't be getting much sympathy for her if that's what you're looking for.
