Just wondering... YES its a practice GAME I get that,

We had a near full strength list and got flogged by a shite team..... have no respect for freo, useless team and to lose by 40 points is a joke....

Any one else feel that way or are we all "its a practice game" attitude?

cheers

Carlton spanked the Bulldogs in the last practice game in 2008 then went on to lose the first 3 games of the season including bad losses to rubbish teams like richmond and essendon.

You can't read too much into it.

Only Grigg, Johnson and Wiggins.
Score line very flattering for dockers. We kick straight and theres every cance we win that match so it doesn't matter. Quite happy actaully. If we had of won i think they would have classed our pre-season as almost perfect and all focus on us winning in Rd 1. Thsi takes off a litttle bit of gloss and most of the hype will be directed towars ben bean and his flowerpot men

Not worried at all.................

Long travel time
Never played at the ground before
Nothing on the line
No major injuries
Didn't reveal any tactics

I have no doubt the players were aware not to get injured........this would have resulted in mediocre pressure, something the Dockers game plan revolves around and are very experienced at.

You tell me how many practice matches the Swans have won over the years!

I was at the game , it's not a problem .. It's the dockers enough said . When the real stuff starts it will different . It was bloody hot down there about 32-33 with not a drop of wind , so there was allot of rotations . something like one a minute , so no one was really playing in position for that long ..

Yarran looked like he took another step forward , wich is a hugh positive. Gartlett gets more of it at the moment but yarran looks more dangerous when hes got it . id play yazza rd1 after yesterdays performance, He kicked a lovely goal from the boundary too. I'm starting to see his silk ..

your a gimp mate, its a praccy match. couldn't give a 'rats toss bag' about it or any of the other nab games, real season is completely different.
bring on richmond!

Oh dear, going by some of your posts on the result I presume you had some serious coin on the match!!!!

Might I suggest leaving BF alone for a day or 2 after a loss this year!! cos it seems you may need a "hyster-ectomy";)

Thanks for reading all my posts i've written, appreciate you caring so deeply
Didn't know you could bet on practice games, might look into it

Now im worried about you getting a card... the word gimp is very disrespectful.

Gimp is a usually derogatory term used to refer to a (male or female) sexual submissive person, typically dressed in a black leather or rubber

Agreed.
26 scoring shots to 23, and you'd have to think that we have played our cards reasonably close to our chest this pre-season, and we might just see what we are about come round one.

How about we not press the panic button just yet, and we can re-asses after the first handful of games in 2009.

I'm not worried one iota about the result, practice games are meaningless, Port thumped St.Kilda by nearly 10 goals, and the Saints are (still IMHO) a top 4 side, and the Power are pretty much a bottm 8 side ...

It's the mounting injuries right now that is really worrying me, we are going to be pretty under-strength for rnd 1 against the Tuggers, esp now Grigga is going to miss the first month or so, that stupid report and suspension for stevens in rnd 22 last year is really going to hurt.
I think the club should be patient though and not risk rushing back Walker for rnd 1 (still needs a couple more scratch matches in the VFL to get through IMHO)

If you believe the peanuts on Bay 13, it's all over for us in season 2009 :D

I think the club were looking at getting permission from the AFL for Walker to play in the Bullants' practice match next weekend, so if he gets through that there should be no reason not to select him for Round 1

Does anyone ever take any notice of what the "peanuts" on Bay 13 say about our club? I would be more inclined to take notice of what my 3 year old granddaughter says about the club, than the 'nongs' on Bay 13.

Seriously my 4 month yr old daughter has more brains than some of the goofs on bay 13 , but you got to admit it's always good for a laugh!!

why would we need permission to let him play ???

The weekend before the start of the Home & Away season is required to be kept free for AFL listed players, as part of the players' agreements. Clubs therefore have to receive permission from the AFL to allow these players to participate in the VFL practice matches for that weekend.
