I thought he was great considering it was his first game. Trengove definitely had the better of him in spite of hit outs but based on what I'd seen and what others had said from watching ressies I was pretty skeptical that Archie could have an impact at AFL level. I was shut down. If this is his floor then there's a pretty high ceiling and with his leap he'll probably touch it at the very least.

I offered him a new 3 year deal before the first quarter had ended. Granted his debut was against a makeshift ruckmen but Archie was still pretty epic I thought.

Tough critic. He had 8 clearances at 3 quarter to to rockliffs 4. Not to mention won a few free kicks in the middle (which may or may not impact the clearance number).

Didnt get to watch alot of the game. Lucky i was partially* impared by alcohol.

Some really good signs. My part of the stand erupted when he got high in the ruck and effected the tap. Lots of encouraging cheering specifically for Archie, it was great to see.

He's going to be a weapon if he continues this, dare I say a bit of NicNat flair.

We've got four rounds to go and I would pull Steph aside and say we are going to play Archie for the rest of the year, it's nothing personal but more towards his development. Within this timeframe we want Steph to work as closely as possible and support him. Archie can only improve his game if he plays in the firsts and learns as much as possible from his opposing ruckman.

I had this exact thought yesterday. Wouldnt hurt steph. Would do wonders for Smith.

His leap was amazing to see live, made some exiting and dominating moments in a game where we got pants d .
I'm looking forward to watching him get higher and dominate the tap on big Sandi in the future , congrats to him on a promising debut.
It was also good to see his team mates there to receive a quick handball .
Could we please see him play against the Saints this year , and show how bad that prick Billy Longer is, with a school in how to attack the footy and tap to advantage instead of crying like the mummies boy he is .

The question is if he improves a little and gets his jumps more consistent ( and will get there pretty quickly you would think) is what other high offers will come from other clubs ?
How long have we got him signed up for as a point of interest?

He was jumping far too early at the beginning of the game but seemed to find better rhythm as it progressed

Had a sneaky $20 on him for the Rising Star at 200-1 or so. I was hoping with our ruck situation he would get a debut earlier than he did. May be a chance for a nomination next year though.
