haha! i do think we are rebuilding - sort of. we traded for young blokes this year instead of old hacks - think Carey. however i still think we will be competitive next season so it's not a complete rebuild, just a "make over".

Knights, Van Berlo, Douglas, Thompson, Rutten, Johncock, Bock, Griffen, Maric, Reilly, Hentschell, Porplyzia, and now Brad Symes are all quality players under 25.

A number of players between 25 and 30 capable of playing good football for a few years to come and people like McLeod and Goodwin will hopefully continue to perform well.

We wont "bottom out" and rebuild but obviously we need those younger players and anyone else brought into the club this year will have to step up.

The next couple of years wont be easy but hopefully we are heading in the right direction.

Yes we are but as BF says we won't bottom out as Vic teams to feel neccessary.

We in fact were this year as well if you look at the number of young players played ....just more of the same but it looks higher profile when experienced players are delisted.

As mentioned, the Crows are not doing a full re-build, as the most of our starting-22 are still the same. If we were looking to fully re- build we would have traded the likes of Burton.

However, we are looking to turn more players over than usual as we needed to reguvinate our aging squad.

It depends what you mean by rebuilding. I'm guessing you mean the traditional Victorian method of quickly removing a ton of old players, gifting youngsters games and conceding seasons in an effort to get early draft picks; the AFC sets a much higher standard for itself than that. We are replenishing our list with young talent, but we expect to play finals every year.

The delisting of Torney says to me that we are re-building - not that the club would ever admit it.

Craig has always said that one only has to refresh the list, not rebuild, and that's what we have done for the past 3 years without getting the chocolates. This year we dropped back to boiled lollies.

Torney had an outstanding year but was delisted for no other reason than the fact that he was 30. Ageing warriors in Perrie and Bode have also been given the flick, and that says to me that the club has given up the refresh mode and gone into re-build mode. Three players traded and five delists confirms that in my mind.

IMO we are going down the path that Port Adelaide did last year, but a year later.

I'd say its a refresh, as a rebuild implies a complete turnover of key positions and a majority of players. 9 out of 38 is significant, but not earth shattering. I can't accept the "Victorian way" of throwing seasons, would much prefer to be in with a chance(of finals) ever year. Just look what happen to Port this year.
Ya gotta be in it (the finals) to win it! That is how we won in '98!

Come on guys, there are Victorian supporters here. Not only that, but labelling all victorian clubs the same as some is extremely narrow minded. Which is highly disappointing considering poeple continue to say how much better crow supporters are to the likes of PA and the Pies... Your coming off extremely arrogant much like, dare i say it, Carlton supporters!
