We would be far happier having an ad (or 2 sometimes) after every goal but instead they had 4 or even 5 then later we twiddled our thumbs when they chose not to go with any ad.

AND how about some of the 5 secs plus close-ups of Malthouse when action such as 50m penalties were still going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on people we have to think of somehow to punish Ch 7 till they listen. One lazy option could be a thread/petition in the Blue Room where we pledge to watch CH9 news not 7's until they mend their ways. A few hundred agreeing might make them think about us viewers voting with our remote

Well that was the REAL reason they didn't want to play the game live. They had sold extra ads by splicing in extras between each goal. It would not have been possible to do that if they went live.

How much did that shit hold up the game today? The whole crowd just want momentum and the AFL, networks and advertisers just want money and if the game has to suffer and continually stop then bad luck for 80,000 people at the ground. Infuriating.

I guess they were holding the bounce for country and interstate viewers who may have been getting it live - how we would have loved just one add every goal, there was 40 after all, compared to the crap we had to put up with from 7 in Melbourne

How they can have the audacity to run commercials promoting the continued protection of FTA channels through anti-siphoning legislation & then treat a big match like today's game with contempt, just amazes me. Channel 7 do not deserve to be protected by such legislation.

Their lack of appreciation for how big the game was really surprised me. It was almost as if they were showing the game out of obligation, just crammed in between the V8s & the bloody Great South East (Qld program). I hope Andrew Demetriou was privy to this disgrace today.

Fridays night delays for "better homes and gardens" a disgrace ,4-5 ads after goal ,disgrace . More than pissed off at Seven. Couldn't go to the game and was watching it with mates and when after the first goal we got a full ad break, where we pissed.

It was the first time I watched Seven on Sunday arvos all year and they serve up that tripe even after they delay it by an hour. Was sorely tempted to check the radio or look up some stream online but decided against it.

Channel 7 are a joke. Why do we get a 90 minute delay into Adelaide, f the V8s. Cant wait for the new broadcasting deal, hopefully 7 is gone and we can watch live footy on FTA sundays

the camera work for today's game was horrible. It would either be zoomed in on the player with the ball so you couldn't see what was happening around him or the stupid behind the goals camera where you can't see anything (then they replay the play from the camera it was first shown in so you see nothing for the second time).

Hope to god they lose the rights next season

A great game (for 3 quarters) made a mockery of by the network that is meant to be making people want to watch. Give it back to 9 imho.

That would be no good for the game in Qld & NSW, as 9 will continue to show the NRL double header on Friday night & the 4 o'clock NRL replay on Sunday afternoon.

There will be no decent coverage of Friday night & Sunday afternoon football on Channel 7 or 9, that is the reality. The AFL must insist in the next broadcasting agreement that these games be shown live into all markets or be handed over to Fox Sports. No ifs or buts.

Was pretty bad wasn't it. The thing is they can do what they want because they pay so much to get the exclusive rights for a game. One solution would be for the AFL to allow 2-3 media outlets to broadcast any game live, and let them compete for audience share. Then it would be the quality of their broadcast that would dictate the size of the audience they get and the premium they can charge for their ads. That's called competition. Happens with radio, why not TV?

Yes they are an absolute joke.

The only thing they have going for them are cometti,mathews & harley plus the fact that 95% of ten commentators are tools.

Can you imagine a Liverpool v Man U not being live into all of England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland

Or Celtic v rangers live into all those joints

Or Barca v real not being live into Spain & Portugal & probably most of France & South America.

This is the biggest club home & away clash in Australian sport, yet the AFL's broadcast partner puts an event that makes rugby league look interesting on live.

Hopefully some one at AFL house is taking notice, it is a good thing that 7 don't have last bid rights this time the AFL should be able to push the cash side but also get some agreements on when games are shown & by who especially in emerging markets.

7's Friday night footy allright except for up here it starts at 2330, don't know the f##* why when if I drove an hour north or south can get it on prime at 2230. But Sydney 7 usually get some rubbish from 2230 - 2330.

One way to get the message across may be to take signs to games broadcast by 10 & fox with "get footy off 7" "take footy off 7" & hold em up behind the goal or benches, I'm sure 10 & fox wouldn't be concerned about showing em.
