I was just wondering whether a club has the right to approach a player still in contract and sign them?

So if you are allowed then why doesnt adelaide approach players we want before other clubs do a deal with players that we might have interest in. adelaide is far too soft in trading and recruiting. the club always seem to wait around and then all players are taken and we get the leftovers.

I dont think you can approach the player while still contracted..what you can do is approach his manager :D

What West Coast did with Stenglein was sign a ''heads of agreement'' all this means is that West Coast agrees to drafting Stenglein if a suitable trade is worked out between Adelaide..or if by chance he is still available in the PSD

This heads of agreement also can detail payment and length of contract

We do we are just quieter about it

At this stage the players you want are playing finals so there are less stories about those...now Poor Power have finished we already have seen management recruitment ..wait for the players to follow ;)
