Is it just me or is the ARIA's getting more painfull to watch every year. I had to turn the channel over every time Delta f*cking Goodrem was on. May as well not have watched it.

Did anyone hear the intro for the Video Hits award by Katie Underwood? What a f*ucking joke. Apparently Video Hits has been a strong supporter of ALL GENRES of australian music. Thats funny, I thought the only way to get your music played on video hits was if you were a former neighbours star or you fit the Top 40 production line pop image!! I'd love to know how often bands like Jebediah, Motorace, Epicure, John Butler Trio etc have had their clips played on Video Hits.

Good on Delta - very talented singer/songwriter and seems like a very down to earth person as well. Deserves all the success she gets IMO.

I agree. I'm not a massive fan but I think she has a lot of talent. It's just a shame that her illness has been so over-publicised, it takes the attention off the talent she actually has.

No need to get personel now RaDaR ReiLLy. I didn't bag you, I bagged out Delta. I do realise she has some talent compared to other top 40 artists but the fact is, there are thousands of extremely talented musicians out there who can't get a break because they dont fit the top 40 pop image.

Having said that, you obviously enjoy being force fed your music by SAFM. Whatever they play, you like. There's more music out there than whats on commercial radio.;)

At least the live performances were pretty good this year

The Sleepy Jackson even got a gig - you beauty!!!
The Sleepy Jackson are a fantastic band.:D

I think what many fail to realise is that the ARIAS are the Australian record industry awards. As such, they are merely a promotional tool for these same firms to promote and therefore sell their product.

It has nothing to do with talent, or worthwhileness, or whether artists actually deserve "best status - these awards exist simply to perpetuate the SELLING OF RECORDS.

Hell, next you'll start believing that Top 40 lists are actually a true reflection of what the public are buying !!

Delta is a beautiful, talented young lady, whose music I don't particular like. However, she is an extremely MARKETABLE commodity which, fortunately for Ms Goodrem, is far more crucial to her success and award-winning potential than my taste in music.

I know you werent bagging me

I just don't agree with what you're saying, and the fact that you are bagging Delta just because others can't get into the business is really pathetic.

And I don't enjoy being force fed my music by SAFM. Im a huge fan of Triple J music, in particular The Waifs and Something For Kate. Can't remember the last time SAFM played that kind of music

You cant judge me on my music taste just because Im sticking up for what Delta Goodrem is all about.
