Thought it was a vast improvement on his games last year. I still get nervous when he delivers by foot - but overall to take down Green was a quality effort

With experience he will iron out those disposal errors, he sometimes chooses the wrong targets and/or is slightly off.

Youd love to be able to kick the ball like he does though.

Some of the lasers out of full back were amazing

The error in the last quarter was terrible but that shouldn't overwrite the rest of his game which was sensational

I was thinking of the defensive side of his game more than his kicking, he left his man by reading play showing confidence he didn't show last year.

That with his man on man work was very good, he is a huge unit as well.

Have been down to training a few times in the pre-season and noticed that - looks like the boy just does biceps curls and shoulder presses for 40 hours a week.

Like Masten - needs to get a proper haircut

Definately a much improved player from when we last saw him in an eagles jumper.

Mistake in the last was hideous but he will learn from it, and cant let one bad mistake take credit away from what was a good game....Kept Green quite to.

Its great that Schofield and others have good players pushing for spots in the side. Hopefully in coming weeks we have fit and in form guys like Strijk, Masten, Swift, Hams, J Jones and Smith putting their names up.

Thought he was pretty good besides his lazy kick that cost us a goal. Was very good in one on one contests and delivered well out of the backline, would love to see him use his pace more though considering how quick he really is.

Awesome to see the boy from Berwick kicking ass and taking numbers.

On last nights perfomance he certainly has the belief. However when the team is motoring then everyone has a bit more confidence.

Had a good game. Smithy tired in the last quarter though, visibly, and made a rash of errors/fumbles. Excited by him though and I hope he goes on with it from here - he is just what we want in the backline = some pace and a spearing kick.

Apart from his kick in clanger, and the 5 fumbles he did in a row in the centre, he played an awesome game.

Always said we should be playing him. Gots a long penetrating kick.
