I think she will be big, better than Tomic. Currently 15 years of age, turning 16 in 24th of April.

Here is a video I made about some of her shots:

The best thing about her is that she keeps her eyes on the ball and keeps her head still during her shots. As can be seen below:

She has the shots, athleticism and variety. She's mentally strong as well.

The next Federer perhaps?

For the love of god, can we keep a lid on it...I have heard it so many times...yes she has a good game...I am unsold on her, as I will like her to have a bigger weapon. She just seems "solid" and solid like Wozniaki wins no slams!

What about that forehand? She hits it hard with plenty of topspin. Federer style.

Solid, but needs more work and I did watch her 1st round loss and very inconsistent, yes she is 15 or whatever. As I said, needs a strong, reliable weapon. Lets re-visit this in 2 years.

Very impressive game at that age. Really like her forehand and her serve is not bad either. Looks pretty technically equipped to deal with varying conditions.

Good luck to her, future top 10 player IMO.

Yes she played horribly that match, well all her WTA matches (3). Plenty of double faults.

But they are probably nerves, she usually plays much better.

Her height could be a problem, but she has a better serve than Hewitt's. She got 7 aces in her r1 AO match.

So she is going to be the next world number 1 male tennis player?

Lame...

What I'm saying is the she "could" dominate the WTA like Federer did when he first won a major, he was unstoppable. Of course she has a long way to go, but she plays in a very similar style, very aggressive but there is good margin in her shots due to the topspin so she isn't going to make the errors that someone like Kvitova makes.

She is also very quick, not being a tall girl is a big advantage here. All tall girls in the WTA are so slow. All Ash needs to do is play the angles with that topspin and her opponents would have no way of beating her.

She isn't doing that with any sort of consistency yet though, her tactical decisions seem wrong, she's playing too aggressive at this point.

In fact I haven't seen a female player ever that puts as much revs on the ball as Barty does. Watch her technique here, so much acceleration:

Heard the same thing a hundred times about different players, can we please keep a lid on it, she has some good things.I don't see height as an issue, she surely is taller than Henin for instance. I see consistency and lack of an absolute weapon as her major drawbacks and they are what she should be working on in the next 2 years.

You said it earlier einstein. She is 15 for christ sakes. Ofcourse she will be inconsistent and obviously she will work on some shots etc. Imbecile.

She won her 1st senior tournament, challenger at Sydney by beating Olivia Rogowska 6-1 6-3 (again!).

She is 6 months younger than Tomic when he won Melbourne challenger in 2009.

Wins her second pro tournament, beat Rajcic in Mildura. No idea what the score was, must've just happened. Good signs, but these Aussie tournies obviously are not as strong as the European ones, so hopefully she work her way up.

Ash just made it through to the SF's of a 50K tournie in Nottingham. She won in 3, lost the first set quite comfortably, but I think she was just getting used to the conditions as it was really windy. I love some of the angles she gets on her groundies. The only thing is she seems to chuck in a quite a few DF's (she did the same against Kvitova), maybe its just a pressure thing due to not being very big so she's forced to go for a bit more on the second (Henin was the same). The thing is with the age rules these days, the days of the teenage sensation are pretty much done. I.e. it'll probably take her til she's about 21 to really establish herself on tour in terms of experience etc. Her next match will be tough though, but I'd say she's going along nicely.

Lot of hype here for a 16 year old.

She is good. She plays smart and mature tennis, uses a lot of variety, whereas most juniors ballbash. As a result her transition to the senior tour has been pretty smooth.

As long as she keeps developing, learning, she will crack the top 50 player at some point. Anything more than that is rampant speculation. On the WTA Tour you need the weapons to compete with the big guns. Some players burst onto the tour with them (e.g. Sharapova), others develop them later. Barty doesn't have them, and whether she will develop them as she gets older is anyone's guess. It's the difference between a Slam winner like Stosur, and a journeywoman like Rachel McQuillan or Nicole Bradtke.

i still think her potential is huge. she is simply being overpowered moreso than anything. besides the kvitova match she has been quite competitive
