You won't find many players with more genuine talent than Sampi I'm afraid. If his heart is in it and he meets whatever requirements set by the club, they'd have to pick him up.
at a low pick or in the psd? why not - nothing really to lose if there isn't a player of better skill. 23 is still very young and who knows what his previous maturity levels were like.

often we forget that afl players are human, they have the same feelings and emotions that us non-afl have - just because they footballers doesn't mean that other aspects of their life disappears.
a relatively stable club like adelaide could do wonders for him. character is something that develops over time and character is developed through mistakes, trial and error. at least his problems seem surmountable - diet and grief is a lot easier to cure than alcohol problems and arrogance.
that being said, collard is an option and i believe that adelaide should use mcleod while he still has currency.
At 59 I could be convinced to take a punt on Sampi, by that pick the talent is going to be very thin by the sounds of things and so it probably wouldn't hurt to take a punt on either a Sampi or a Bradley. Unfortunately we have absolutely no one, (unless Mcleod, Johncock or Edwards reinvent themselves there) as a crumbing small forward. If Sampi could convince us that he is committed I would definitely take a punt. If he does turn out to be a bit of a mistake then, as a #59 draft pick we havn't lost anything really.
Otherwise why waste a pick........even if it is 59.
Oh please, everyone knows McLeod will continue playing forever.
