I am definitely starting with three rookie mids because a) obviously there is much more value in mid rookies than backs and forwards this year b) I don't want to miss out on a gun rookie.

Martin, Barlow, Banner, Moles and Shuey all look likely to have big 2010s. If I have one more keeper in the midfield and Moles or Shuey explode I will be pissed.

Now I have Goodwin, Enright, Shaw and Hodge in the back and my 7th forward is Ziebell at 320k.

totally agree with this, the exact same reason i am doing this, although in hindsight im technically not losing much because i only have 1 rookie in the fwd line and 6 premiums....

Do you really reckon Rohan will be in starting 22, I thought I heard somewhere that roos considered him something along the lines of not quite ready, I don't have him as I cannot see him starting 22?

Cannot answer on S Borgoyne. Soft tissue injuries will be more common in an older athlete who has a few here and there before. You may want to look up how many games he has played main season for the last couple of seasons.

They wouldn't. Just would have 2 less to choose a 22 from (38 instead of 40). Not the end of the world. Rookie listed players would typically be fringe players anyway (although there are exceptions).

There is a financial cost to promoting that some teams might like to avoid.

I'd hardly call Barlow a fringe player. Or Pods. Or Hitchcock. Or Moles. All these guys are worthy of the spot/s that have opened up on their teams list due to LTI's. Teams are stupid if they don't upgrade rookies. Why take them in the 1st place, and if you're on a rookie list obviously you can play the game

Warnock as your 2nd ruck

Should i take the risk early in the season and play Warnock as my 2nd ruck and save a bundle of cash. Or should i use all the available cash in my cap and go for someone like Seaby?

Anyone else in a similar predicament or considering doing something similar?

I am happy with the balance of the rest of my team so don't want to downgrade anyone else to free up cash.

Having Warnock as your 2nd ruck is a recipe for disaster. AVOID, DO NOT ATTEMPT!

3rd ruck spot on the bench at best and even then I think he is a tad too expensive compared to Skipper and Stanley who will get their fair share of games.

Draw up a best 22 for each of those teams.

While all those guys are definitely worth a call up, they are still well and truely *not* entrenched in the top 22. ie- fringe players.

Fiddled with my rucks, clicked Save Team, site froze, now I'm back at square one. Sad thing is I think I have all 30 committed to memory by this point so I can just punch them back in.

Looks like it's still a bit screwy as I still can't actually add any players.

When do Fanfooty publish these? I see there is a space on the website for them, but it's blank. Can they not be done until after Round 3, as the breakeven is a calculation using the previous 3 rounds?

Would be very handy to have this infor before the Rd1 Lockout.

Breakevens are calculated based on a players scores over the last 2 weeks.

So it is impossible to know a players breakeven now since they haven't scored anything yet.

If you want to play around with salary predictions, I do love plugging my site.

Click on the TooSerious link in my sig, then click on stats. If you click on the little calculator next to a players name, you can enter in week by week scores and see what effect that will have on their salary.

I've tried in both Firefox and Chrome and can't see that either. Maybe they were doing tests.

Two questions..

I have Ablett, Selwood, Mitchell, Kerr, Burgoyne, Martin (Barlow, Kayer) in the Mids. I was suggested Burgoyne and Kerr were risky. Any suggestions for replacements?

Also what are the experts here thoughts on Kreuzer in my rucks?

How much spare cash is it best to keep after selecting your team?

Is it worth while to keep a 100k or so for trades later or just blow the whole lot?
