I think we are in the wrong thread, Dirty. Wickz mentioned a few weeks ago they would be the ideal destination. I reckon he’s bang on. I can’t believe they’re not in the public conversation, but maybe they’re doing something behind the scenes?

Would not rule them out because there will be pressure to be able to go further in finals

Last thing we need are assistant coaches fresh out of nappies. RFC can load up as much they want. Would be very concerned if we started making these sort of appointments.

Really? If a player has the smarts, and an ability to communicate, he can move to coaching very quickly. Breust has been a mentor for years, will be an effective development coach from day one.

I would be happy enough when Newman and/or Haynes retires if they are added to our assistants. There is no rocket science involved, it is footy. Why do so many believe there is some mysticism to coaching?

Skills and structures are the domain of assistant coaches. Senior coaches and strategists need to have more innovative skill sets and a higher level of experience.

The Blues met with the three-time All-Australian midfielder on Wednesday.

Wondering the same thing. Don't think he has ever been a line coach so you would think it would be some development role. I assume Boak would be the same if he came across

That's interesting he's never been a line coach, but he has been a head coach at VFL level.

Could be good for his resume to be a line coach for us. Unsure what line he would take if Clarke remains as midfield coach.

Hamill the only confirmed open spot but Russell/Clark were uncontracted so who knows. Haven't heard anything about Kreuzer but assume he stays on as ruck coach

Doubt he’s coming for anything other than a promotion. Shrewd get though, was great with our VFL program when he was last with us
