Grimes for Morris I reckon, Dea should be depth only he doesn't look like an AFL player. We might as well try Astbury forward because our forward line won't be kicking a winning score the way it is currently.
More of an AFL player then Morris ;)

if Maric is sore I would play Vickery as Ruck.

Griffiths can be forward helping Vickery out in the ruck.

And because we have Vickery and Griffiths rotating in the ruck we can have Astbury at times helping out 1 of TV or Griffths with JR up forward at times depending on how the opposition set-up is.

Think that gives us a bit more balance and versatility when suitable

Vickery to ruck makes sense except for the fact that he is a complete soft **** as a ruckman. I don't know how many times we have to repeat this. Average at boundary throwins but scared of being jumped into at bounces. If we are going to give Maric a rest then it has to be someone else. Vickery is pretty much useless (sorry to say) but only an option as a forward (and only if we have injuries and have to play someone there). He's just too soft as a ruck.

I'd rather Hampson as back up ruckman and that's saying something!

Batchelor is a good 3rd tall. Can play tall or short. Out of a bit of form (like many!) but when playing well he's got that position sewn up IMHO.

Jumped well at the ball in the centre yesterday.... In fact changed his approach during the Bris game last year... Needs to spend more time as the ruck to be honest. Is clearly better in this area after he worked on it.... He really needed to as well.

I find it hilarious the criticism directed at TV yesterday. He played like he hadn't played an AFL game in 6 months.... which is almost as long as it has been.... He looked rusty and he was. Clearly feels the pressure of expectation too... like the rest of the team it seems.

Needs to be played as part of a 3 tall forward line. If Griff isn't ready next week then leave Astbury forward and bring Elton down back.....

Astute watchers would have noticed that TV actually contested pretty well in the ruck in 4q when we won some successive clearances outa the guts, pity the ****en coaches box didn't notice that trend and no sooner Maric was back in there and you guessed it selwood straight out of the guts TV is a ruckman and trying to be a C grade forward , if/when he gets traded I betchya he will be ruck 80% of the time

Batch is the new whipping boy i see. clearly above many in the 22 so lmao at the suggestion of dropping batch.

Wasn't Astbury drafted as a forward anyway?

Certainly was but the magician decided to play him in defence, similar to Morris as a forward.

Astbury must remain down back and develop into the best back an he can. He should review yesterday's tape and learn from it because Hawkins is only one giant. Hogan, Boyd even Mccartin are all in the same mould as Hawkins was when he started out. Astbury needs to learn how to use his frame to absorb the body of his opponent. Chaplin isn't getting any younger, Rance is gone, Batchelor can't hit the side of a barn from 15m, Grimes is injury prone and you could say Astbury also needs some continuity. He & Elton need to be our KPD for the next five years.

How was Eltons job yesterday? Apparently he turned in a pretty average one last week.

I agree, Vickery looks stronger now.

He is entitled to be a little braver in the ruck with his extra core strength.

I think TV should be able to break even in the ruck on most occasions now.

I have no issue letting TV develop in the ruck.

If it does not work at least he can't say he never got a chance.

Time for TV to seize the moment a little bit I think. Prove a few doubters wrong hopefully!

Don't know to be honest. Crap timing for him if he did. He needs to be playing senior football sooner rather than later if he is going to make it. We can't be relying on Chaplin for much longer. He may organise our backline a bit but he is still limited. Plus getting on a bit....

I thought our fwd line looked much more
Dangerous with Astbury roaming around aswell.
Spot on Morro and who said queenslanders knew **** all .
The forward line opened up massively with Astbury there as he forced Taylor to be accountable and lead up to the footy across the half forward line rather than being stagnant standing next to Jack .

Not really. He's just one of a number of poor-average skilled footballers in the line up. Morris is the whipping boy.

Only you

Haha

I didn't think Vickery was horrible but he and jack have no synergy.

Maybe 3 talls can work though.
