So with 2 games to go in the season, we have the weird situation where the 12th placed team is the highest scoring side in the comp- with the odds against Adelaide making the 8 this year, has there ever been a season where the highest scoring team has missed finals?

Not convinced the Crows will finish as the highest scoring team. Only 13 points in front of Brisbane. I think it's between Adelaide and Sydney for that 8th spot though.

1993 was such a ridiculously even season that Geelong missed the finals as the second highest scoring team.
