I've only lived here for 11 months and I love the whole lot of the state. The north/south rivalry bemuses me actually.

Yeah I've heard you mention it before here on big footy. It amuses me too! Having lived in Launceston Ive been brought up to hate the Hobartian/Sotherners. Now that I live in Hobart and am here for uni I get all this anti Northerner/they stole the footy stuff! Im Tasmanian before Im a Northerner or a Southerner!

Exactly, I've been coming here for years and I've always heard the north/south **** taking. When it's just banter it's fine, but I've actually heard some people get serious about it. Unbelievable! This is the most beautiful place to live and I intend to stay here (just bought a house, in fact). I can't believe that a few are really serious about just where in the state is the best. Get real people, it's all wonderful!

Yeah! Its quite, its safe and its not expensive. Yeah I must admit my Dad is one of those 'serious' ones. He made his solicitor meet him at Oatlands one day for a meeting because he didnt want to go to Hobart!
When I used to row, there was always this big thing that the state coachs would only pick Southerners in a state side! But I can honestly say that these days that doesnt happen and that the selectors look at every rower, even if they are from Launceston!
