Come on DaSawx, that attitude isn't good enough and it's exactly what is holding the club back.

Every single pick, be it National Draft or Rookie Draft should make it as a player. Not just a solid footballer but an out and out AA quality footballer.

Just isn't good enough.

I just don't understand how people expect recruiters, good or bad, to nail every pick.

Most teams have missed picks in gthe top 10, let alone in the 60's

From a Carlton perspective, was interested in him last ND due to our need for defenders.
Was wondering if Bombers fans rate him at all and are you dissapointed that he was delisted over Bolton or Henneman?
Also is there a reason why he was delisted after only 1yr? Because usually you would expect draftees to get a couple of years as rarely do they show a lot in the first year?

Lucy was hardly played in the backline for Bendigo. From what I heard of him before he was drafted, I was expecting a strong, aggressive and quite attacking big defender...saw no evidence of any of this. That said, I think most kids (unless they're trouble makers) deserve 2 years to prove themselves. Being an 18 year old settling in from interstate and being away from family and friends (probably for the first time) would be tough.

Pretty simple really. He has poor kicking skills. He was tried in key defencive roles several times and was beaten pointlessly every time. He was played in the VFL reserves a few times and still didnt really shine (he was lucky we had as many injuries as we did or he would have had even more time in the seconds). Probably played 4 good quarters of footy for the year.
Very nice kid but a very average footballer. People tend to see AA fulback and expect more but i think his AA award was more of a reflection of the quality of defenders in last years draft.
As for keeping Bolton and possibly Henno in front of him well i would sooner have Bolton as Lucy was no hope of playing seniors. Bolton is also very average and should have been delisted as well but he is a better option than Lucy. There is still hope that Henno may not be on our list.
