When I was here in aus last time, there was a cricket game between Australia and the rest of the world

How do you reckon this would go if footie had their own version?

Players like Tye Kennelly, Mal Michael etc could play for ROTW

name a side. It won't work for another decade unfortunately, unless you were to reduce eligibility rules to base selection on ethnicity.

last time I tried on the main board, I could barely fill a team. You'd have to get some SANFL and WAFL players to make up the numbers.

These days it would be overloaded with quality defenders, but lack any real ruck depth, midfielding ability or forward line firepower, although Brad Moran's weekend form would make him a pretty good option at full forward.

Here's my attempt at a "Rest of the World Squad". All of these players were born overseas:

B: Will Thurstfield (Rich/England), Mal Michael (Ess/PNG), Harry O'Brien (Coll/Brazil)
HB: Tadhg Kennelly (Syd/Ireland), Trent Croad (Haw/NZ), Alipate Carlile (PAdel/Fiji)
W: Colm Begley (Bris/Ireland), Peter Bell (Korea) , Kris Massie (Adel/Sweden)
HF: Damien Cupido (South Africa), Adam Campbell (Freo/NZ), Ian Perrie (Zimbabwe)
F: ??, Aaron Edwards (Nth Melb/Samoa), ??

Foll: Setanta O'Hailpin (Carl/Fiji), Martin Clarke (Coll/Ireland) , David Rodan (PAdel/Fiji)

Players in italics are recently retired from the AFL but may still qualify to play.

Some of these players are currently injured, so at any one point in time it might be hard to pick a fully fit squad that would be competitive.

Probably been mentioned before but how about a International All Star XVIII v </insert team here/> on Saturday 6th September ?

The International XVIII would be made up of the best single player from each country (from IC08 umpires votes) plus an additional player from the top 3rd-6th place finishing teams as a curtain raiser to the International Cup final at the G.

I'm not sure you'd have had more than half that number if you had been pulling the list together 10 years ago. The professional game has undoubtedly expanded internationally to some degree (albeit it small comprative to other sports) and Ireland/GAA has played a big part in this. It will continue to play a big part as well. 10 years from now there could well be enough Irish players to fill its own ROTW side. Add to that the other countries where the AFL is making a push and 10 years from now you might well see a genuine ROTW side.
